The final season of The Crown 6 takes viewers from the 90s to the early 2000s. The team originally planned to write one season of what happened in the past decade, but now decided to write the story into two seasons to reveal more details of the British royal story for the audience.
Who plays Princess Diana?
31-year-old Australian actress Elizabeth Debitsky will replace Emma Colin as Princess Diana in seasons 5 and 6 of "The Crown".
She issued a statement saying: "The spirit, words and deeds of Princess Diana live in the hearts of many people. I'm honored to be part of this superb series, and I was completely hooked by the first episode of The Crown."
Who plays Prince Charles?
Following his appearances in the BBC's Chasing Love and the latest Downton Abbey film, Dominic West will succeed Josh O'Connor as Prince Charles in seasons 5 and 6, starring against Elizabeth Debitsky.
William, Harry and Kate appear
"Deadline" revealed on September 2 that after an exhaustive casting process, "The Crown" has cast actors who play Prince William and Princess Kate for the sixth season.
Prince William's growth from teenager to young university student will be played by two actors:
Rufus Campa, 16, will play Prince William at 15 as he struggles with the death of his mother Diana.
Ed McVeigh will play the university Prince William, who met and affirmed his love for the future Princess Kate at the University of St Andrews in 2001.
Princess Kate will be played by newcomer actor Meg Bellamy.
All three actors made their screen debuts, and Deadline added that filming will begin at the end of the year. But the role of Prince Harry has yet to be filled in Season 6.
What other casts are there?
Emeda Staunton will replace Oscar-winning actress Olivia Coleman as Queen Elizabeth II in seasons 5 and 6.
She also issued a statement saying: "As an actress, I am very happy to see Claire Fuy and Olivia Coleman bring something unique to the script. I am truly honoured to be part of such an outstanding creative team and to bring The Crown to a successful conclusion."
Following Vanessa Kirby and Helena Bonham Carter taking turns as Princess Margaret, Leslie Manville will take over the role in seasons 5 and 6.
She shared via Netflix: "I'm so excited to play Princess Margaret and take over this baton from two powerful actresses, and I really don't want to disappoint them. It would also be a pleasure to play sisters with my best friend Ameda Staunton."
As for Prince Philip, Jonathan Pres will be the last actor to play Prince Philip in seasons six and six.
What years will Crown 6 cover?
The story of the sixth season will continue the story of the British monarchy into the early 2000s. Each season of The Crown to date has spanned about a decade.
Seasons 5 and 6 will cover the final decade of the century that brought many changes to the royal family.
Crown 6 release date?
The release date has not yet been announced, but it is unlikely to be released before 2023, with a good chance of being in 2024.
Season 6 is still in production, and the team announced to the outside world that filming for Season 6 would be suspended after the death of the Queen to pay tribute to the Queen.
