Investigative journalist Tom Ball's explosive book, Revenge: The War Between Meghan, Harry and Windsor, published earlier this year, uncovered the truth behind the Sussex couple by talking to 80 people who knew the couple privately, according to British media reports.
The author made countless earth-shattering remarks, from how Meghan couldn't get along with Harry's friends, to the fact that after the relationship between the two became public, the royal family forced the writers of "The Golden Lawyer" (Meghan appeared in the show) to make changes to the plot.
However, one of the most allegedly interesting comments about the couple's relationship came from Ms. Susan Hersey, the handmaid of Queen Elizabeth II, who gave her thoughts on their relationship ahead of Harry and Meghan's wedding in 2018.
Ms. Susan is said to have said this while having lunch with a group of executives of the National Theatre a few months before their marriage.
Bauer wrote: "In discussing the possibility of Meghan having a connection with the National Theatre after the wedding, Hersey unexpectedly became serious about the couple's future. She allegedly warned that their future would end in tears. Remember my words! ”
Ms Susan was a key member of the late Queen's inner group and is widely regarded as one of her closest friends.
When Prince William was born in 1982, the then Prince of Wales and Princess Diana made her one of William's godmothers in honor of Lady Susan.
Also included in the list are King Constantine II of Greece, Princess Alexandra, Duchess of Westminster, Norton Knachpur, the Third Earl of Mountbatten of Myanmar and Sir Lawrence van der Post, mentor of King Charles.
Ms Susan has long been Her Majesty's maid, but originally joined the royal family in 1960 to help respond to letters. She quickly rose through the ranks and became one of the Queen's closest friends.
The youngest daughter of the 12th Earl and Countess of Waldgraf, Ms Susan was married to Marmoduk Hersey, chairman of the BBC's board, from 1959 to 2006.
During her time at the Royal Family, she was a Commander of the Royal Order of Victoria and was promoted to Grand Lady of the Order of Victoria in 2013.
Ms. Susan was also awarded the Elizabeth II Royal Family Medal for Long Loyal Service. When the Queen arrived at Prince Philip's funeral in April, she personally invited Ms. Susan to sit in her car. She was most recently photographed attending the Queen's State Funeral at Westminster Abbey on 19 September.
After the queen's death, many of the maids are expected to retire soon as they are in their 80s. Although the late Queen had many close friends in this prestigious position, it was predicted that the new queen would not follow in her mother-in-law's footsteps.
Royal historian Marlene Koenig explained to the Daily Express: "Some positions may no longer be filled. You might wonder if the ladies of the royal family, especially Camilla, would still use maids like queens? ”
"Even when Camilla was the Duchess of Cornwall, she never had an official maid." But Camilla also had assistants who helped her with official business, and she had the help of her former secretary, Angela McManus, but Angela was never called a maid.
Both Camilla and the Princess of Wales were asked if they would like to appoint their own maids when they married into the royal family, but they both chose not to. This modernization is completely different from the previous division of the status of women in the royal family.
