This heroic female Soviet soldier is named Maria Riemannskaya.

In 1945, she directed traffic in front of the Bredenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany, when the camera recorded her directing traffic, and this shot became one of the symbols of victory in the anti-fascist war.

When Riemanskaya faced the camera, her face still could not hide the "joy of victory".

Behind her is Berlin's iconic building: the Breidenburg Gate, which at that time was the route for the Allied heads of state to the Bostan Conference.

However, the Breidenburg Gate has been reduced to ruins in the war, and seems to symbolize the destruction of the "Third Reich".

Maria Riemannskaya was born in 1924 and joined the army in 1942.

Riemannskaya followed the troops all the way to Berlin, where she was 21 years old when she liberated.

After the Soviet army occupied Berlin, the young and beautiful Riemannskaya had the honor of becoming the "traffic commander" of the Breidenburg Gate.

Now, many people actually think of her with another female soldier, Anna Peter. Raffna was confused.

Because they both directed traffic at the Brandenburg Gate, and picture 4 is Anna Petrovna.

Riemanskaya returned to her hometown after the war, married and had children, and lived the rest of her life in obscurity.

But she was undoubtedly lucky: About 800,000 Soviet female soldiers joined the army during World War II, and some of them never returned home.
