His name is Amo Haji and he has been called "the dirtiest man in the world." For a long time, Haji lived in the village of Dejega in Fars Province in southern Iran.
Haji makes a living by picking up trash and rummaging through trash cans for food. His body was covered in dirt, and he was only wearing a tattered piece of clothing all year round, and the clothes were dirty and hard, and the cotton wool inside was also rotten. In winter, he adds another hat to keep out the cold.
Because he hadn't bathed for more than 60 years, his body often emitted a disgusting smell.
When I was sleepy, I lay directly on the ground and fell asleep.
Haji is an avid smoker, and the most he does throughout the day is light a bag of cigarettes and spit out the smoke.
And these so-called cigarettes in Haji's hands are not normal tobacco, they are dried animal waste.
Nearby villagers or passers-by see Haji pitiful, so they will stuff him with a pack of cigarettes. And Haji will also take it unceremoniously, lighting four or five at a time.
Haji does not have his own house and usually lives in a wasteland not far from the village. He rarely took the initiative to deal with people, always lying alone by the trash heap basking in the sun.
Later, nearby villagers helped him build a brick house. Perhaps accustomed to sleeping in the open, he did not live in a brick house for a few days, so he ran to sleep in the wasteland and earthen pit.
When asked why Haji didn't take a shower, he just said softly, "Because of my wife." ”
Haji has been bathless since he was in his twenties.
Before that, he was also a clean teenager.
In 1954, Haji met a sweet girl, the two fell in love at first sight, and finally entered the palace of marriage.
Haji loves his wife very much and always keeps the best for her.
But at the happiest moment of the two, Haji's wife unfortunately contracted the plague. Despite Haji's devout prayers, his wife eventually died.
This caused Haji's sky to collapse.
From then on, Haji was like a changed person, he was in a trance for a while, began to beat himself up, and began not to bathe.
Haji said: "I want to keep the taste of my wife. ”
But as time passed, Haji went from an initial reluctance to bathe to fear of bathing. The thought of taking a bath made his heart extremely uneasy.
The villagers couldn't stand Haji without bathing, so they forcibly dragged Haji to a car and took him to the river to take a bath. However, when Haji heard the word "bath", his emotions instantly rose and he jumped directly from the car.
Later, Haji also began to have a fear of clean food, so he began to drink sewage and eat food discarded by others.
And it is precisely because of the reason that he does not bathe, he ages very quickly, obviously less than thirty years old, but he looks like an old man.
Over the years, the bacteria and dirt on Haji's body became his body, and even became his thick "armor".
But amazingly, although Haji does not bathe all year round and eats dirty food all year round, he has a long life. The average age of an Iranian man is 75.07 years, but he lived to be 94 years old.
At the beginning of 2022, a medical doctor approached Haji for a comprehensive examination, however, the results of the examination surprised everyone.
Haji only contracted trichinosis, a disease that humans contract after eating raw meat. But on Haji, who did not bathe, the medical doctor did not find traces of bacterial and parasite infestation.
The medical doctor believes that perhaps because Haji has lived in an extremely harsh environment for a long time, his own immune system is much higher than ordinary people.
But on October 23, 2022, 94-year-old Haji passed away.
A few months before Haji's death, villagers took Haji to the bathroom, where he took a bath for the first time in decades. Unexpectedly, shortly after Haji took a shower, he fell ill and eventually died on October 23.
There are still many theories about Haji's death, some people say that a bath broke the original immune balance of his body; Others say that Haji knows that his time is short and wants to go clean to see his wife; Others felt that bathing made Haji feel uneasy, and it was his psychology that affected the body.
And the real reason is unknown with Haji's death.
