#英媒: Johnson has returned to the UK # Johnson has returned to London from a leave of absence to run again for leadership of the British Conservative Party in order to serve as Prime Minister again.

Boris Johnson flew back to London from a vacation in the Dominican Republic. He told an ally that he would compete for party chairmanship to once again serve as Truss, who resigned as prime minister. Johnson told an ally he was "ready" and "I'm going to do this."

According to British media reports, the former British prime minister contacted party lawmakers during his sabbatical, assuring them that this time he would choose "a different style of government, introducing more discipline in Downing Street".

After Johnson's plane had arrived at London Gatwick Airport, Johnson waved to the media and was quickly taken out of the lounge by security officers. He then left the airport in a Land Rover.

After a series of scandals and mass resignations from cabinet ministers, Johnson officially resigned as prime minister six weeks ago, but he remains popular with some Conservative MPs and party members.

Six cabinet ministers, including the commerce secretary and the defense secretary, said they would support Johnson in the election.

Conservative MPs who wish to run must have the support of 100 MPs on Monday the 24th, and Johnson is said to have received the prescribed number.

However, Johnson remains a divisive figure.

British Foreign Secretary Jesse Norman said the choice of Johnson as leader of the Conservative Party was "absolutely disastrous".

Senior backbencher Sir Roger Gale reminded voters on Twitter that the former prime minister is still under investigation by the House of Commons Privileges Committee because he may have misled the House about "partying".

Sir Roger told Times Radio that if Johnson was re-elected prime minister, he would give up his party whip and run as an independent candidate. Top line hot list
