The M2 Bradley tank is a mechanized infantry, infantry supporting fighting vehicle combat.
Stryk armored vehicles are motorized infantry, combat vehicles supporting infantry combat.
The difference between the two is most evident in the manned configuration of a platoon of 4 tanks, the M2A3 platoon with three infantry teams, each with a Squad Leader and Non-Commissioned Officer (Squad Leader) and Non-Commissioned Officer (Non-Commissioned Officer) to which the tank belongs. The vehicles in which the platoon leader and sergeant major were also travelling, BFV-1 and BFV-4, were carried without additional personnel.
In other words, a Bradley mechanized infantry platoon, the standard way of fighting is that the platoon commander does not get out of the vehicle, and directs the infantry to get off the vehicle to support the combat vehicle operation, and the infantry is generally not far from the combat vehicle, and the combat is relatively concentrated.
The Stryk armored vehicles turned the other way around, four M1126s or two M1296s + two M1256s, a platoon of four armored vehicles with four infantry groups, and three rifle teams plus a weapons group. The vehicles in which the platoon commander and sergeant major ride, ICV-1 and ICV-3, carry additional HQ personnel,
The difference between the combination of M1296 + M1256 is only that the combat vehicle has more long-range firepower, 2 more 30 mm guns and Javelin missile launchers.
The redundant fourth weapons group carries Javelin missiles and M240 general-purpose machine guns, providing 7.62 mm full-power rounds, compensating for the sustained fire of 5.56 mm machine guns in ordinary infantry squads.
In other words, a motorized rifle platoon of Stryker armored vehicles, the standard combat method is that the platoon commander gets out of the car, and the platoon personnel are responsible for communication between the platoon commander and the vehicle. The platoon commander got out of the vehicle and directed the infantry to fight, if necessary with the support of tank weapons, the infantry may be far away from the combat vehicle and scattered operations.
