Alan Rickman (February 21, 1946 – January 14, 2016).

Rickman is a famous British actor and director, born in 1946. He has starred in films such as "Sense and Sensibility" and "The End of Yin and Yang Love", and has won many awards such as Emmy Awards and British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards throughout his acting career. From 2000 onwards, he began playing Professor Severus Snape in the Harry Potter film series, which was well received by a large audience.

He died of cancer in London on 14 January 2016 at the age of 69.

Rickman had a habit of keeping a diary, and from 1972 onwards, he carefully recorded the trivialities of his daily life. From the 1990s onwards, he began to make a more comprehensive account of his work and life until his later years. The diaries are in handwritten editions of more than 27 volumes and will be published this autumn by Scottish publisher Canongate. The Guardian reported on it in 2020. The diary will be run by Alan Taylor, a book review editor in Scotland, a choice affirmed by Rickman's widow.

A recent article in The Guardian features chapters from the diary, which will be published in October, that reveal Allen's complexity. As an actor, he is highly acting, full of observation and imagination. In his life, he was very concerned about public life, and often made sharp comments on the political situation. During the events of 9/11 he recorded: "... Rehearsals were underway, and as dance training was about to begin, we saw the first reports from New York, and all the following rehearsal moments became a 'sharp' but 'irrelevant' thing", "... When he came home at night, he watched the scenes over and over again on television, hoping to imprint them in his brain, his mind, his life..." Three days later, he wrote: "I watched more reports and still tried to understand something." In any case, the United States will be unable to eliminate the fact that millions of people in Afghanistan are starving, not to mention the innocent people in Iraq, and the political naïveté of the United States is so naïve."

Perhaps the diary most satisfies the interest of Harry Potter fans is the part about the recording of the shooting site. In September 2004, Rickman recorded "famous scenes from the Harry Potter films: "The morning shot of me hitting Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint (Ron character) on the back of the head – no doubt corporal punishment always caused some fuss."

Professor Snape played by Rickman.

The reversal of Professor Snape's "human design" played by Rickman has been one of the biggest "tear points" in the Harry Potter series. A recent Indian Express report wrote that during the filming of the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts actor reunion, Daniel Radcliffe and "Sirius" actor Gary Oldman had discussed Rickman as the person who had the most inside story but "he never revealed it to anyone". In the revealed chapter, Rickman wrote in a July 2007 diary: "Seven years ago, J.K. Rowling quietly revealed to me a message: Snape is deeply in love with Lily – which became a grip on my cliffside and supported me in this role." In January 2010, he recorded the last moments of Snape's life. "Shoot at 6:30 a.m., I'm with Daniel, Emma and Rupert, and the Naginii in my head is filling my throat with blood, and the three teenagers are frowning and gasping for breath."
