In the African savannah, hyenas often beat and even bite the lone lioness, but there is a lioness who subverts cognition, not only single-handedly picking 12 hyenas, but also making multiple male lions surrender, creating a lion group that belongs only to themselves.

Since the 1990s, lions on the Ljuwa Plains of Zambia, Africa, have been hunted by humans, and by the 20th century, there was no trace of lions in the entire Ljuwa Plains, so people believe that the lions of the Ljuwa Plains are extinct.

However, in 2004, when a photographer named Herbert came to the Willow Plains to shoot, he accidentally found a lioness, which was strangely strong, and if it were not for its mane, people might think of it as a male lion. And this lioness is not afraid of humans, and even keeps a distance of about 10 meters from the photographer, and seems to want to communicate with the photographer.

After Herbert's investigation, it was found that this was the last lion in the Willow Plain, it had been living alone for many years, and the long-term solitary life made the lioness feel very lonely before trying to communicate with humans.

Perhaps touched by this lioness, Herbert named it "Lady Lyova" and took the initiative to communicate with it, but she did not expect that Lady Lyova was not afraid of life at all, always around Herbert, and even went to the camp every night to find Herbert. And Herbert woke up every morning to see Lady Lyova, and she was always quiet in the tree, all of which made Herbert incredible, so he followed and photographed Lady Lyova for a while.

Lady Liuwa's strength is beyond everyone's understanding, she can always prey on large animals such as buffalo and wildebeest, and it seems that there is no opponent in the entire Liuwa Plain. One of the most surprising things is that Lady Liuwa was besieged by 12 hyenas after preying on a wildebeest, and if other lionesses encountered this situation, they would definitely escape.

However, Lady Liuwa rushed directly to the hyena herd, and even bit the hyena queen, and finally 12 hyenas scattered and fled, a feat that some male lions may not be able to achieve.

In 2008, Herbert offered to find a "boyfriend" for Mrs. Lyuwa, so he found a young and majestic male lion from Cafu National Park in central Zambia, but due to anesthesia overdose, the male lion died unexpectedly in transit.

In 2009, Herbert tried again, and successfully transported two young, healthy sub-adult male lions from Cafu National Park, hoping that they would form a lion group with Lady Liuwa.

Mrs. Liuwa, who had not seen the same kind for many years, was very excited, directly lying in front of the two male lions, and turned over to expose her belly, taking the initiative to show goodwill, and soon Mrs. Liuwa and the two male lions lived a life without shame and shame. It is worth mentioning that during this period, Mrs. Liuwa has been hunting and feeding two male lions, and they share food, which is very rare in lion groups.

However, three years later, Mrs. Lyuwa is still not pregnant, and Herbert investigates and finds that Mrs. Lyuwa must be too old (estimated to be 13 years old), or perhaps infertile. In order to restore the ecosystem of the Ljuwa Plain as soon as possible, Herbert sent two young lionesses to the Ljuwa Plain.

This time, Lady Liuwa took the initiative to attack the two lionesses, but did not kill them, but only wanted to make a threat. Too frightened, a lioness escaped from the Willow Plains and was hunted down by poachers. A male lion also tried to leave the Willow Plains to find a new herd of lions, but was unfortunately hunted. Fortunately, the lionesses who remained were accepted by Lady Liuwa and another male lion, and eventually gave birth to three cubs.

Although not her own children, Lady Lyova cared for the three little lions and taught them hunting skills herself, and Lady Lyova officially established her own lion herd, and her descendants have always supported it. Until August 2019, Lady Liuwa died naturally at the age of 17 (estimated), which is the longest-lived lioness in the world.

Looking back on The life of Lady Liuwa, it may not be as magnificent as the male lion, but it has made countless people see hope and possibility, and they have seen the tenacity and persistence of life, and the lions in the Liuwa Plain will continue to survive with the faith of Lady Liuwa. #I'm going to make micro-headlines##Animal##Lion##打开眼界 #
