I have the impression that Africa is a backward and barren place, drought, lack of water and dirty, and I am not at all interested in such a place. But this sentence aroused my curiosity about Africa: "Always wanted to change the way of life?" Have been to the free and wild life of "Out of Africa"! ”

This is a sentence on the waist cover of the book "Into Africa". These words were like lightning bolts, touching the tip of my heart, a very quiet and unrestrained contradictory body.

"The Moon and Sixpence" says: "I always feel that most people spend their lives like this, as if they lack something, I acknowledge the social value of this life, and I also see its orderly happiness." But there was a strong desire in my blood, a desire for a more wild and uninhibited journey. My heart longs for a more thrilling life. ”

The world is big and I want to see it too.

Body and soul always have one to go.

So, without hesitation, I bought the book "Into Africa" and followed the danish writer Karen Brixon's brushstrokes to start my journey to Africa.

Today I only read Volume 1: Kamanti and Lulu.

What struck me the most about this volume was the beauty of Africa, and I couldn't imagine that Africa was incredibly beautiful. I was deeply impressed by her beautiful and picturesque language.

Even without the anointed fertile soil and the lush vegetation, the vicinity of the Engong farm in Africa is beautiful:

"Eyes full of dry and burning colors, like a glaze made of fire."

"At noon, the surface air suddenly stirred, like a flame, it flickered, swayed, as if sparkling, mirror reflected everything, illusion of a grand mirage."

Not only the scenery is beautiful, but even the animals are portrayed so beautifully by the author, this depiction of the male lion makes me suspect that it is Simba who came out of the movie "The Lion King".

"Before sunrise, the moon was like a hook, and it was ready to embark on its way home after hunting, and it crossed the gray valley, leaving a deep mark in the silvery tall grass, and the scarlet on its face was stained all the way to the root of the ear; I've also seen a lion nap at noon, surrounded by an entire family, lying comfortably on the shallow grass of African Paradise, with the acacia tree casting a soft shade like a spring on it. ”

There is also a description of Lin Linglulu, who is alive and well-off of a noble and beautiful princess:

Lu Lu's gesture of walking into the house and lying down was really elegant, as if a person who decided to close the skirt of the family money was afraid of hindering others. She drank even the milk with a polite and slightly disgusted expression, as if forced by the invitation of an overly enthusiastic hostess. She insisted on being scratched behind her ear, dark and shy and reserved, as if a young wife had delicately allowed her husband to caress her. ”

The indigenous people who live on the land of Africa give people a strange and mysterious and somewhat uncivilized feeling. The attitude of the indigenous boy Kamanti to Karen in the book is intriguing and worth pondering.

Kamanti was a skinny little boy with a big head and festering legs. When Karen first saw him, she felt pity for him and wanted to help him heal his legs. In the face of the stranger's kindness, the boy did not refuse, and without words obeyed Karen's arrangement, coming to the treatment on time. No matter how painful the treatment process was, the boy did not say a word, and even his face was expressionless.

"He has a fatal depression towards life, and he keeps his mind shut to all life around him."

He doesn't even sympathize with others," and when he heard the cries of others who loved to clean and bandage their wounds, he never looked at them squarely, but instead responded with a low sneer, and there was a kind of contempt in the laughter. ”

The boy had a habit of laughing, but more often than not, he was directed at himself, and he laughed at his disappointment and misfortune with impunity.

The boy's behavior made my heart ache, and I couldn't help but ask myself heavily:

What makes a little boy only a few years old so strong? Strong enough to be like stagnant water.

What makes him so withdrawn? Lonely to indifferent, indifferent to not only not resonate, but also laugh at the pain of others.

What makes him so mentally twisted? It turns laughing at others into having fun with your own disappointments and calamities.

Maybe he has experienced too much pain, tasted too much pain, or maybe he lacked warmth and love too much in his childhood, so that he had resigned himself to the pain, he closed himself, twisted his heart, and isolated others.

Karen failed to heal Kamanti's leg, so she took him to the Scottish Presbyterian hospital.

Happily, the boy's festering legs were healed.

Surprisingly, the boy would surprise Karen (deliberately tying the old bandage back to his leg).

To Karen's surprise, the boy believed in her Christianity and offered to be her servant.

When you encounter the warmth of the sun, the ice in your heart will really melt. The bright, warm side hidden in the boy's heart is slowly unfolding.

He went to school with Karen, and although he would not sit at his desk with the other children, when he got home he would secretly write the letters and numbers he saw on the blackboard in the kitchen from memory.

He has a special talent for cooking, can easily learn a variety of dishes, and he can also remember recipes and the special tastes of each guest.

In the middle of the night there was a fire in the mountains, and he thought that "God" (in his eyes this should be the bad guy) was coming, worried about Karen's safety, and immediately called her to get up.

Look, even if a person with a heart like stagnant water encounters kind care, he is willing to show the kindness and enthusiasm buried in his heart, and he is also willing to give people trust and will repay the favor.

Jingmei, material beauty, people are more beautiful, with a touch, carry a yearning, continue to read, explore the wonderful Africa!
