On September 5, in the jujube garden of Shi Famei, a villager in Nanhu Village, Xia Town, Toxun County, the aroma of red dates came to the face, and the red dates were hanging from the branches, and Shi Famei and her husband Mi Jianbing were busy picking red dates for customers. Shi Famei said: "At the end of August, the red dates have gradually matured, every day I will send some videos, pictures to the circle of friends, there have been many customers inside and outside Xinjiang ordered red dates from WeChat, courier companies to pick up the goods, very convenient." ”
It is understood that this year, the planting area of jujube in Toxun County is more than 110,000 mu, and the annual output of jujube fresh fruit is expected to be more than 40,000 tons. The red dates in Toxun County have the characteristics of thin skin, thick flesh, small core, high sugar content and easy storage, and are mainly planted with 15 varieties such as gray dates, horse tooth dates, winter dates, jun dates and chicken heart dates, of which gray dates are the most, and the planting area is about 90%.
Located in the southern foothills of the Tianshan Mountains and at the western end of the Turpan Basin, Toxun County has long sunshine hours, winds and rain, and high temperatures. Thanks to the unique natural environment and the resources of snowmelt water in the Tianshan Mountains, the soil with high organic matter content has created cash crops such as sweet and delicious melons, fruits and vegetables in Toxun County, and the dates here are ripe in late August every year.
In recent years, Toksun County has continuously optimized the structure of agriculture and animal husbandry, with the construction of a high-quality demonstration base as the starting point, vigorously developed characteristic agriculture, made the characteristic forest fruit industry better and stronger, and promoted the high-quality development of the forest fruit industry through the use of measures such as variety optimization, standardized production, packaging upgrading, quality traceability, and cold chain transportation.
