Several equipment upgrades to the North Korean naval flagship

There are many theories about the ship's equipment, and the following is the most reliable one used in the reference photos.

Two of the Rojin-class corvettes were built, hull number 3025 was launched at The Nanjin Shipyard in 1972 and commissioned in 1973, later renamed 531; Hull number 3026 was launched at Napho Shipyard in 1973 and commissioned in 1975, later renamed 631 and second renamed 591. They are North Korea's most fully loaded warships, the flagships of the East and West Sea fleets, respectively.

In the 70s, their weapons were as follows, and the torpedo tubes were used for training:

2 x 100 mm/56 B-34 guns;

2 twin 57 mm/78.7 ZIF-31 anti-aircraft guns;

6 twin 25 mm/82 2M-3M anti-aircraft guns;

4 x 5-mount RBU-1200 anti-submarine rocket launchers;

1 triple 533 mm torpedo tube;

2 x anti-submarine deep bomb throwers;

2 depth charge drops;

30 mines

There were some problems with the modeling, and the 2M-3M anti-aircraft gun was turned into a twin 37mm/63 V-11M anti-aircraft gun

First improvement

In the mid-1980s, the North Korean Navy dismantled the torpedo tubes and installed two single-mounted SS-N-2 Styx anti-ship missiles removed from the 205 Project Mosquito missile boats, which were installed in the hull side; Dismantled the RBU-1200 and the anti-submarine depth bomb thrower; Install one AK-230 in each of the side and behind the rear chimney. The Rozin class in this state is the only one with a complete hull outflow.

Second improvement

In 2014, at least one Rozin-class was modernized in Nanpu City, dismantling the Styx and replacing it with two 4-seater Venus 3 anti-ship missile launchers (modeled after Russia's KH-35E Uranus anti-ship missile); Dismantling of the tail ZIF-31 anti-aircraft gun; Addition of a six-mounted "Arquebus Gun" man-portable air defense missile launcher (imitation version of the "Needle" man-portable air defense missile); The 2M-3M anti-aircraft gun was replaced by a six-barrel 14.5 mm Gatling machine gun; the AK-230 was changed to a magic AK-230 (the barrel was replaced by a 6-barrel 30 mm Gatling gun of the AK-630). It also features a multi-mount jamming projectile launcher. The Venus 3, the 6-mount arquebusier and the 14.5 mm Gatling machine gun were all exported to Myanmar with certain quality assurance.

Magic modified AK-230

The Rojin class is the most powerful warship in the North Korean Navy, and its anti-aircraft firepower, like North Korea's most advanced Nampo-class stealth corvettes, is much stronger than the latter in terms of artillery, and the anti-ship missile carry is twice as large. It relies on close-range guns and anti-aircraft missiles to barely construct two layers of air defense, short-range and ultra-short-range, and with jamming bombs, it may be able to defend against sporadic subsonic anti-ship missiles.

Nampo class

Compared to South Korea's Pohang-class corvettes, the ship has an advantage in tonnage. But looking at the artillery aspect alone, the Pohang-class 2-seat Otto. The Melera 76 mm rapid-fire gun and the 2-mount Breda "Fast 40" twin 40 mm close-in gun firepower are obviously superior, and the 100 mm manned naval gun of the Rozin class and the ZIF-31 are completely incomparable in the fire control system and rate of fire. Disadvantages may only be brought back when the Magic AK-230 and 14.5mm Gatling machine guns are effectively played at close range.

Pohang level

North Korea has introduced Iran's Fajr-27 76mm rapid-fire gun (imitation of the Otto 76mm gun) technology, which has been successfully copied and installed on the Nongo-class stealth missile boat, and if it is reloaded to the Rojin class, it can equal South Korea. The crew gun did not need to penetrate the deck, while the Fajr-27 did, and perhaps the Rozin class needed to install a platform under the gun position to accommodate the Fajr-27.

Imagine installing the Fajr-27

In the case of pure artillery warfare, according to the equipment of the Rojin class and the equipment owned by North Korea, the best configuration should retain the RBU-1200, ZIF-31 and 2M-3M, as follows:

2 Fajr-27 76 mm rapid-fire guns;

2 twin 57 mm/78.7 ZIF-31 anti-aircraft guns;

6 twin 25 mm/82 2M-3M anti-aircraft guns;

4 x 5-mount RBU-1200 anti-submarine rocket launchers;
