2015 Evacuation Operation
When civil war broke out in Yemen in September 2014, foreign citizens were implicated and put at risk.
In March 2015, the Chinese naval warships "Linyi", "Huaifang" and "Weishan Lake" on escort missions in the Gulf of Aden suspended escort missions and went to Yemen to carry out evacuation missions. On March 29, the Chinese Navy escort frigate Linyi docked at the Yemeni port of Aden to evacuate Chinese citizens. On March 30, the Chinese Navy escort frigate Weifang carried 449 Chinese citizens safely from the port of Hodeida in western Yemen.
