On December 20, 2008, a meteorite fell near a small village in Morocco, known as the Tandahut meteorite. The meteorite weighed 100 kilograms and a small portion was distributed to children in Boston on April 22, 2017. The Cook Islands issued a meteorite silver coin for this incident! The commemorative coin is worth $2, has a diameter of 38.61 mm and weighs 15.6 grams. Each commemorative coin is studded with fragments of the Tandahut meteorite.
