Yang Huifang

For a solemn promise, Yang Aigong guarded the tomb of General Zuo Quan from the age of 21, rain or shine. In his old age, he led his daughter-in-law to continue the obligation to guard the tomb to this day. In order not to bow to fate, Yang Huifang took his parents to insist on studying. After graduation, he became a teacher and insisted on using his knowledge and strength to give back to the society and dedicate love.

Both of them are surnamed Yang, but they are not related. However, a grand event linked their names. A few days ago, the Eighth National Moral Model Symposium and Award Ceremony was held in Beijing, and Yang Aigong and Yang Huifang of our city were invited to participate in the meeting as representatives of the Eighth National Moral Model Nomination Award, but the elderly Yang Aigong was unable to make the trip due to physical reasons. On August 15, this reporter interviewed Yang Aigong and Yang Huifang, listening to their feelings about winning the award and how they personally practiced and guided the people around them to worship virtue and be kind.

Yang Aigong: I want to talk to the general

On the morning of August 15, this reporter came to Shimen Village, Liaocheng Township, Xiangxian County. At this moment, the hot sun baked the earth, the cicadas chirped incessantly, and an old man walked out the door with a cane and trembling. After introduction, it was learned that the old man was Yang Aigong, 93 years old this year, his body bones were still quite strong, and he was deaf and blind. "If I hadn't fallen and injured my leg some time ago, I would have walked to the tomb of General Zuo Quan of Lotus Mountain." Yang Aigong, who was on crutches, said.

Daughter-in-law Li Xiuying came out of the house, hugged her father-in-law, and comforted the old man: "Father, you rest at home at ease, I will go." ”

Li Xiuying, who has gray hair, is also 58 years old. Although she was no longer young, she neatly packed up the broom and dustpan in the corner of the wall and prepared to clean up at the tomb of General Zuo Quan on Lotus Mountain.

The Lotus Mountain mentioned by Yang Aigong and his daughter-in-law is a small mountain in the Taihang Mountains, and the mountain is like a lotus, as if the wind blows, and this "lotus" will bloom. Opposite this mountain is the rushing Qingzhang River. The crown tomb of the famous anti-Japanese general Zuo Quan was built between this green mountain and water.

On May 25, 1942, General Zuo Quan was only 37 years old when he was 37 years old in order to cover the breakthrough and transfer of the headquarters of the Eighth Route Army and other organs.

The general was martyred, the grass and trees were grieved, and the wind and clouds changed color. "That year, when I was 13 years old, I was the head of the children's regiment in the village and witnessed the burial of General Zuo Quan. With the hatred of the country and the family, I vowed to avenge the general and drive the Japanese out of China. Yang Aigong said that he stood guard for the Eighth Route Army in the village, rescued the wounded, and sent chicken feather letters. At the age of 17, he joined the army and went to the front to fight. In 1950, at the age of 21, he was demobilized and returned to Shimen Village.

It was from this time that Yang Aigong made a vow that he would oblige to guard the tomb of General Zuo Quan on the mountainside of Lotus Mountain and pass on the patriotic spirit of the general.

This promise is more than seventy years.

For so many years, Yang Aigong had to go up the mountain almost every day to visit the general's grave and send a cup of hot water. In the mountains, water is the most precious thing, he poured a glass of water for General Zuo Quan, and then took his family to clean up the fallen leaves and weeds in the cemetery. When he was done, he would sit in front of the tomb and reminisce about the past. At this time, if any tourists came to visit, he would serve as a volunteer docent and tell the story of General Zuo Quan's anti-Japanese resistance.

"The father-in-law did not do anything earth-shattering, but only guarded the tomb day after day, swept the grave, and planted trees on the surrounding barren mountains." Li Xiuying said that her father-in-law was also awarded the National Moral Model Nomination Award for these small things. But unfortunately, my father-in-law was not able to participate in this event because of his physical discomfort.

After that, more and more people came to Lotus Mountain to listen to Yang Aigong's story of the War of Resistance. Yang Aigong asked his daughter-in-law, who had a particularly good memory, to explain. After so many years of hearing and seeing, Li Xiuying has long memorized the stories her father-in-law has told, and even the professors from the party school love to listen to her stories.

"With my help, the number of times the father-in-law with unfavorable legs and feet went to the cemetery of General Zuo Quan was less and less." Li Xiuying said that nowadays, the elderly often take out the medals and photos of various periods, carefully wipe them, and then place them on the table, while looking at them and thinking.

The reporter asked Yang Aigong what he was thinking, he said: "I want to talk to General Zuo Quan and tell him that the Red and White Council has been set up in our village, and everyone has let me be the president, and young people are married, children have a full moon, and old people have passed away. We built roads in the village, built beautiful primary schools, and the dolls were very happy; The party and the government have taken our people out of poverty and become rich, and now life is booming, and everyone's face is happy to blossom..."

Yang Huifang: Do a better job in public welfare undertakings

"As a special preschool teacher from the countryside, I had the privilege of walking into the Great Hall of the People and meeting President Xi, which made me very excited." The person who said this was Yang Huifang, a villager in Wuta Village, Houcun Town, Quzhou County. Over the years, she has done her best to help those in need. Not long ago, as the winner of the Eighth National Moral Model Nomination Award, she went to Beijing to participate in the National Moral Model Symposium and Award Ceremony.

Yang Huifang's adoptive mother was born with intellectual disability, and her adoptive father was paralyzed in bed with cerebral infarction. At a young age, Yang Huifang took on the responsibility of caring for her adoptive parents early on, and used her young shoulders to pick up the burden of the family. At the age of 18, she was admitted to college, and in order to take care of her parents, she rented a dilapidated small courtyard near the school and took her adoptive parents to school.

In an interview with reporters, Yang Huifang said that this honor is the recognition of the whole society for its perennial efforts. As a preschool special education teacher, she has taught many children with intellectual disabilities. It takes months of patient instruction and training for these children to go from not understanding the instructions to gradually learning to complete tasks according to the instructions. She would take these children to repeat the training a dozen times, dozens of times, or even hundreds of times a lesson.

At the same time, she also held a "Parent Small Class" to guide parents to cooperate with their children's rehabilitation training. Seeing that the children are making progress every day, she is happier than anyone else. In her spare time, she also went to the nursing home to comfort the elderly and widows, to support the people in need, hoping to do her best to help those in need.

Just a few days ago, a high school student in Guangping County was admitted to college, but due to family difficulties, he had the idea of giving up his studies. After Yang Huifang saw the news in the circle of friends, she immediately got in touch with the high school student. "When I was 6 years old, my father was bedridden with a cerebral infarction, and my mother, who had Down syndrome, also needed to be cared for. At that time, I felt that the sky had fallen, but the hardships of life tempered my will and made me strong to live..." Yang Huifang said that in addition to using her life experience to educate the other party to face setbacks bravely, she also took out her own salary to support each other.

"At this national moral model forum, I also listened carefully to the report of Wang Yong, the eighth national model of seeing righteousness and courage and 'courier brother'." Yang Huifang said that at the time of the outbreak, Wang Yong went against the trend and brought warmth to a city in his own way. She remembers a sentence that Wang Yong once said: "A person's effort may be candlelight, but the effort of tens of millions of people is the sun." ”

"I was inspired by this sentence." Yang Huifang believes that compared with Wang Yong, his achievements are not worth mentioning at all. Next, she should learn from Wang Yong and do a better job in her public welfare undertakings. In addition, she wants to tell the city's young friends: "When we encounter adversity, we must have the courage to declare war on fate, chase our dreams, and tenaciously struggle forward; When we have a happy life, we must know how to cherish gratitude, selflessly contribute to society, and realize self-worth. ”
