Harbin, August 14 (Xinhua) -- With her action camera and admission badge, Celia went straight to the Harbin International Convention and Exhibition Center to visit the 2022 World 5G Conference.

This year marks the 12th year of Life in China for Guatemalan girl Celia. She is a video blogger who likes to share her daily life with her fans on social platforms, live streaming what she sees and hears in China.

The 2022 World 5G Conference was held in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, from August 10 to 12, with the theme of "Building a 5G Ecology and Promoting Co-creation and Common Benefits", focusing on the four major sectors of international cooperation, technology prospects, digital industry, and 5G+ industry applications, to build a platform for exchanges and cooperation for global 5G development.

Celia came to the Harbin International Convention and Exhibition Center and saw that the display area displayed the cutting-edge technologies, innovative products and typical applications of the whole industry chain of the upstream and downstream of 5G in a scenario-based and materialized manner. She took out her action camera, explained it from time to time, and carefully recorded what she saw and felt at the "punch card" World 5G Conference.

At the exhibition site, a remote abdominal endoscopic surgical robot attracted Celia's attention. With the help of 5G technology, the on-site staff is working with experts from Peking University First Hospital and Peking Union Medical College Hospital to demonstrate real-time interactive and mutual control of remote surgical operations, attracting many visitors to watch.

Celia sat in front of the surgical robot, wearing 3D glasses, and quickly became familiar with the basic operation under the guidance of the staff, facing the three-dimensional image in the screen, operating the handle, simulating the control of the surgical robot in Beijing.

"It's a great technology, and experts in big cities can use surgical robots to perform remote diagnosis and treatment, helping patients in remote areas save travel expenses and time." Celia said.

"With the help of ultra-large bandwidth and ultra-low latency 5G technology, our surgical robot can realize the same operation by doctors in multiple places, and can also achieve online teaching." Guan Jinxing, deputy director of Harbin Sizherui Intelligent Medical Equipment Co., Ltd., introduced that the promotion and application of such surgical robots will help sink and maximize the utilization of high-quality medical resources.

In front of a booth for VR products, Celia put on HER GLASSES, aimed at the flames seen in the picture, and operated a physical simulated water cannon with sensing equipment installed to extinguish the fire. "In this way, receiving safety education and training has a sense of immersion." Celia said. Wang Bei, a staff member from HTC, told Celia that this training equipment uses a combination of physical and VR virtual reality to simulate the disposal scenario of a typical combustible gas leakage accident in the petrochemical industry.

Wang Bei said that with the help of 5G technology, VR equipment can enable participants located in various places to enter the same virtual space for teaching and training, and can also realize classroom interaction and communication, improving the interactivity and sense of scene of remote training.
