Zagreb is the capital of Croatia, located on the southern slopes of the Medvednitsa Mountains in northwestern Croatia, where the Sava River flows. It's a petty-bourgeois former Yugoslav city with cafes and taverns all over the city. Divided into the Upper Town (Old Town) and the Lower Town, they are connected by an old-fashioned funicular railway located in the middle of Ilika Avenue.

Jelišić Square in the center of the Old Town is in honor of Joseph of Zagreb and Gladec in 1851. Built by Governor Jelišić, the statue of the war horse of Governor Jelišić in the center of the square is full of spirit. During the period of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the square was renamed Republic Square. It is now the commercial and financial center of the city, home to numerous department stores, banks, supermarkets and restaurants. In the northeast corner of the square, there is a favorite Muller supermarket, where you can buy local specialties such as chocolate.

The city sandbox in Zagreb on the streets gives visitors a glimpse of the layout of the city. Although Zagreb is not a city known for its beauty, the streets of the city are also steeped in history and culture. The portrait of a lady in a dress and holding a parasol on the corner of the street is really elegant and realistic, and if you don't look closely, you really think that it is a medieval noblewoman traveling on the street.

The roadside flower beds are small but also pleasing to the eye. The neo-Gothic Zagreb Cathedral has two bell towers that are much higher than other buildings in the surrounding area, and the full name is "Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary", but it is usually preferred to be called Zagreb Cathedral. Zagreb Cathedral, the city's most eye-catching historical site, was laid in 1093, but an earthquake of 1880 nearly destroyed the church, which later became known as the famous architect Herman. Breeux designed a completely new look for it, including two 105-meter-high bell towers. The exterior of the church is majestic, the interior decoration is equally breathtaking, and the interior of the church, decorated by numerous frescoes and altarpieces, is very palatial.

Children dressed in ethnic costumes outside the church are singing Croatian folk songs, although they can't understand them, they can still feel their sincerity and enthusiasm, and the young people performing national instrumental music seem to have pulled time and space back to the beautiful time of the Zagreb Middle Ages
