The winners of the 2022 IPPA Photo Contest have been announced: 14 Chinese photographers have won awards

On the evening of August 10, the winners of the 2022 IPPA Photo Contest were announced. In 17 categories, more than 10 Chinese photographers won the awards of this competition. Among them, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winners in the urban life category are all Chinese photographers.

The winners of the 2022 IPPA Photo Contest were selected from thousands of entries from around the world, and judge Whitney Van Nes commented on the winners of this year's competition: "With high-level images, this year's winning photographers have shared a spiritual power in front of this disturbing world. ”

Photographer of the Year

The photographer of the year in this year's IPPA Photo Contest is Antonio Denti of Italy. His film The Kid of Mosul was called "a tender moment in the dusty ruins of war" by the judges.

Antonio Denti, after learning that he had been awarded the title of Photographer of the Year, said on social media:

"I'm really happy and honored to have been named Photographer of the Year. This photo is very special to me.

First, from a methodological point of view, my ability to adapt to mobile photography is relatively weak. I realized that we should master tools and techniques, not be mastered by them.

Secondly, we live in this special historical period. Before this photo was taken, I had been in Iraq for almost two months. In the past two months, I have witnessed the tragedy of the Iraq War. I will always sympathize with this critical, short-sighted, tragic invasion led by the United States, which has thrown this beautiful country and its beautiful people into the abyss of misery.

Finally, like every photo, it's a brief moment in someone else's life. This man, the child he was facing, this touched me deeply. It made me aware of the responsibilities of this generation, which lives in a world that seems to be increasingly turbulent. May we teach a new generation to seek peace. If there is no peace, may they be just, human and powerful. ”
