In 1997, Flanders, a Canadian doctor in Africa, went hunting in the wild with friends. Several wild elephants came to their tent with small elephants, and while they were drinking, Flanders drove down a baby elephant, and the old elephant rushed madly to Flanders' car, and although everyone escaped, Flanders's bad luck came.

It was a day in June, flanders and friends were resting between hunting, when several wild elephants appeared next to their tents with their baby elephants and tapped the roof of their cars with their long noses. Flanders, who were a little excited by some wine at this time, each got into a car and surrounded the wild elephants in a circle, shooting at the sky while chasing the baby elephants.

The human prank frightened the baby elephants, and seeing the panic of the baby elephants, Flanders and they were so oblivious that they made the car faster and faster, and because of the loss of control, Flanders' car hit a baby elephant, and the baby elephant suddenly convulsed and collapsed on the ground, and its limbs bounced a few times.

The crazy people suddenly stopped the car, and before they could slow down, an old elephant saw the baby elephant that had fallen to the ground and rushed to Flanders' car like crazy, frightening everyone to start the car and run away. It took two kilometers to get rid of the elephants chasing after them.

Flanders, who had escaped back, had not gone out hunting again for a month, but could not resist the temptation of hunting pleasure, and at the end of August, he was idle and set off again, this time alone, but an accident occurred.

On the day, Flanders had good luck and a good harvest, and did not go back until late afternoon. Halfway through the road, several elephants approached. Frightened by the last time, Flanders quickly pulled the car to the side and stopped, ready to give way to the elephants.

However, the last elephant stopped as it passed Flanders' buggy. Flanders recognized it as the same old elephant who had chased the car for the baby elephant last time, and its right tusk was broken. The elephant seemed to recognize Flanders and his car, and surrounded his off-road vehicle with a long nose and sniffed, frightening Flanders into hiding in the car and not daring to move.

It was dark, and the elephant still had no intention of leaving, so flanders honked his horn and turned on the headlights of the car, hoping to make the elephant flash away. But these actions infuriated the elephant, which inserted its teeth into the car, overturned the SUV with all its might, and then went up a few feet and flattened the car.

Fortunately, Flanders, who was sitting in the cab, was not stepped on, and while the elephant was poking the tire with its tusks, he opened the car door and escaped. Seeing Flanders running away, the elephant twisted its body and chased after him. Frightened, Flanders rushed to the nearest tree, holding the trunk and climbing up, and as soon as he reached the middle, the elephant arrived.

The angry elephant slammed its body against the tree, and Flanders had to cling to the trunk to keep himself from being knocked down. When the elephant saw that this trick did not work, it rolled up the trunk of the tree with its nose and tried to pull out the whole tree. Taking advantage of the elephant's breathing, Flanders tied himself firmly to the branches with his trouser belt.

The elephant, who had fought with the tree several times, saw that he had not brought Flanders down, and returned to his companions not far away to rest. Fearing that he would be chased by the elephants, Flanders stayed in the trees, hoping that in the middle of the night, the elephants would be able to leave.

Africa has a large temperature difference, it is very cold in the morning and evening, and it is very hot at noon. Flanders, who was almost frozen, finally survived until dawn. He looked down and saw that the elephants were gone, so he quickly unfastened his belt and climbed down the tree. Just a few steps down, the elephant came over again. In fact, they didn't go at all, just changed to a place not far from the tree to watch him.

Flanders climbed back to the top of the tree again. This time, several elephants took turns hitting the tree, knocking Flanders down several times, but they did not fall because they were blocked by the branches. By noon, the elephants went deep in the woods to rest, chewing on leaves to replenish their strength, but their eyes never left Flanders.

Flanders, who was exposed to the sun, was about to faint, and in order not to dehydrate himself, he pulled a plastic pocket containing food from his pocket, forced himself to pee out of the urine, and forced himself to drink his own urine. At night, in order not to freeze himself to death, Flanders tied the cuffs of his clothes tightly, but he was still shivering cold.

So Flanders survived another day, and fortunately it was raining, and Flanders stored some rain in a plastic bag and insisted. The elephants under the trees also stood guard, showing no sign of leaving. Flanders' mentality was about to collapse, but the desire to survive still supported him to live. He regretted the stupid things he had done.

By the fifth day, hunger and dehydration had made Flanders feel somewhat unconscious, and the chapped lips and the burning of his throat tormented him and plunged him into despair. He looked blankly at the elephants, who did not come over and continue to hit the tree, but did not stop there.

Suddenly, Flanders heard a gunshot, and then a group of men came in his direction with guns. The elephant under the tree saw so many people coming, hesitated, and then got up and left the place.

It turned out that Flanders, who had not been at work for several days, attracted the attention of his colleagues and called the police after an unsuccessful search. Based on clues provided by his friends, the police suspected that he might have gone hunting, so they sent hundreds of people to find him. Two days later, he found his abandoned car, which had been trampled by an elephant, and traced it.

But everyone never saw Flanders around under the tree. Flanders in the tree, because his voice could not make a sound, could not let the search for him know, in a hurry, he threw down the plastic pocket that still had rain in his hand, which was out of danger.

The rescued Flanders lay in the hospital for more than two weeks before his body recovered, but the shadow left by the elephant lingered. He often dreamed of being chased by elephants, and many times he was frightened from the dream, and he did not even dare to watch the elephant pictures that appeared on TV. Later in his life, he never hunted again, and all the shotguns in the family were disposed of.

If Flanders hadn't had the courage to kill the baby elephant for a while, perhaps there would have been no such disaster. Life is precious not only to humans, but also to animals, who also have emotions and revenge. It is better that the well water does not violate the river water, and each of them is safe and coexists peacefully.
