From Kenya in East Africa to Ghana in West Africa, from Zambia to Zimbabwe, there are countless pragmatic China-Africa cooperation projects, which are writing the big article of mutual benefit and win-win and friendly cooperation between China and Africa with micro cooperation cases, and have also won the recognition of Africans through visible and tangible cooperation results.

On July 31, the Nairobi Expressway, the capital of Kenya, which was invested, developed and operated by China Road and Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd., was officially opened after more than two months of trial operation. On the same day, the Nairobi East Ring Road Widening Project, undertaken by China Communications Construction Co., Ltd., was also fully opened to traffic.

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta said at the ceremony that the Nairobi Expressway and the New Nairobi East Ring Road will significantly alleviate traffic congestion in Nairobi. Before the opening of the Nairobi Express, some sections took at least 3 hours to drive, but now it takes only 15 to 24 minutes. These projects usher in an era of reduced traffic times, increased mobility, reduced congestion and increased productivity in Nairobi, and have created a better business environment for Kenya, which will bring more opportunities to the country's tourism, convention and hospitality industries.

From the great improvement of the transportation environment to the new economic development opportunities created for the local area, Chinese enterprises in Kenya are bringing tangible benefits to the Kenyan people through pragmatic cooperation, and have also become the epitome of many Chinese non-enterprises who have won a good reputation in the local area by hard work.

In Ghana, a west African country, a Chinese-owned overpass project was completed in March, dramatically improving traffic conditions in the heart of Tamali, the capital of the country's northern province. Ghanaian President Akufo-Addo once said at the completion ceremony that the Tamali overpass has benefited the people of Ghana, which is another proof of the development of Canada-China relations.

Ghanaian diplomat Adam Abdul Rahman spoke to this reporter for the overpass built in his hometown. According to his recollection, "On the day the overpass was completed, people flocked to the bridge to take pictures, cheer and celebrate. This is the first overpass in the Northern Province, which not only improves local traffic, facilitates travel for everyone, but also beautifies the city skyline of Tamali."

The construction quality of Chinese enterprises is widely appreciated

In the southern African country of Zambia, the first phase of the Kafue River Water Supply Project, built by China Civil Engineering (Zambia) Co., Ltd. and with preferential credit from the Export-Import Bank of China, was also recently completed. The project is a comprehensive water supply project integrating water intake, water purification and water transmission, which will supply 50,000 cubic meters of water to Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, every day, providing sufficient, clean and safe water resources for local people and improving the quality of local water supply.

On July 29, Zambian President Hacainde Hitchlema thanked the Chinese side for providing financial and technical support for the water supply project at the completion ceremony, expressing satisfaction with the construction quality of Chinese enterprises. He said that this project reflects China's sincerity in benefiting the people of Zambia through cooperation between the two countries.

According to reports, the design of the Kafue River Water Supply Project fully considers sustainable development, promotes local employment and enhances capacity building. At the peak of the project construction, nearly 1,000 local builders were employed, and a group of construction talents were trained for the local area through education and training.

In Zambia's neighbor Zimbabwe, the new Chinese-aided parliament building was also greatly appreciated by Zimbabwean President Emerson Mnangagwa in recent days. After visiting the project on July 20, Mnangagwa said that the building blends Zimbabwean and Chinese cultural elements, with imposing, exquisite design and high construction quality. He expressed great satisfaction with the speed and quality of the construction of the new parliament building and expressed his sincere gratitude to China for its consistent support to Zimbabwe over the years.

Enhance Africa's capacity for independent development

For a long time, China has been action-oriented, and under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, it has successively announced the "Ten Major Cooperation Plans", "Eight Major Actions" and "Nine Projects" for Africa to support African countries in improving their independent sustainable development capabilities and effectively solving the three bottlenecks of lagging infrastructure, insufficient talents and shortage of funds in Africa. Since the establishment of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in 2000, Chinese enterprises have added and upgraded more than 10,000 kilometers of railways, nearly 100,000 kilometers of roads, nearly 1,000 bridges, nearly 100 ports, and a large number of hospitals and schools for Africa, creating more than 4.5 million jobs. This is an achievement that is "worthy of respect" by africans.

Just recently, the Kenyan think tank "Cross-regional Economic Network" released a survey report saying that China's cooperation with Africa is highly recognized by Africans in terms of infrastructure construction, rapid decision-making and timeliness of project completion.

As Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Zhou Pingjian said in an interview with this reporter, in recent years, within the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, China-Kenya infrastructure cooperation has been at the forefront of China-Africa cooperation, and China-Africa win-win cooperation has been fully reflected in Kenya. China has helped Kenya solve the problem of insufficient infrastructure in various ways, bringing Chinese standards, technology, management, equipment, etc. to Kenya, and these achievements are well known in Kenya, and the government and people have benefited from it.

Facts have proved that China is relying on high-quality and efficient practical actions to bring tangible benefits and opportunities to Africa's development and win a solid and good reputation.

Good word of mouth stems from China's long-term emphasis on Africa cooperation on a "real" word. The report of the "Cross-regional Economic Network" shows that in the past 15 years, China's infrastructure cooperation projects such as roads and bridges in Africa are "really visible" changing the face of Africa and helping African countries promote connectivity construction and market integration.

The Nairobi Expressway in Kenya undertaken by Chinese enterprises

Good reputation lies in the extraordinary Chinese speed, Chinese quality and Chinese spirit displayed by Chinese enterprises. Chinese enterprises have not only created a "legend" of Chinese speed and a "model" of Chinese quality in Africa, but also the story of "master-apprentice love" cultivated by Chinese masters and African apprentices in their work has also been widely circulated.

Good reputation lies in China's respect for the African people and the recognition of African countries as equal partners. Unlike the arrogance and superiority of Western countries in their cooperation with Africa, China has always been a sincere friend of Africa. Kenyan scholar Stephen Endegwa published an article pointing out that both historically and culturally, China and the African people have more in common, and China is happy to see a more resilient and stronger Africa.

China's good reputation is to roll up its sleeves and work hard in Africa, and it is to sweat step by step. What is truly high-quality cooperation, who is truly committed to improving the well-being of the African people, the African people have a scale in their hearts.
