The Chinese woman killed poses with her husband
Overseas network on July 28, the comprehensive United States Fox News and the "World Journal" reported on July 27 that a Chinese bride in the United States was beaten to death by her husband during her honeymoon in Fiji on the 9th. Lawyers hired by his family said the victim's body had to be cremated locally and transported back to the United States because of his injuries.
The deceased was Christie Chan, a 36-year-old graduate of the University of Tennessee and a pharmacist. The husband, Dawson, 38, works as a technician in a nonprofit organization and has been suspended and arrested on suspicion of murder.

The two married after 3 months of acquaintance and then went to Fiji for their honeymoon. On July 9, the wife was found killed in a resort room just five months after the wedding. Husband Dawson immediately took a kayak to other islands after committing the crime and was found by the police 2 days later, but he refused to cooperate with the forensic doctor to undergo DNA testing.
The victim's lawyer said that Chen was Dawson's second wife, and in 2020, Dawson also took his ex-wife to Fiji for a honeymoon. Dawson's lawyer said Dawson, charged with murder, insisted he was innocent. The case is currently being heard by a local court in Fiji, and the next hearing is expected to take place on 18 August.
