To curb the decline in the number of bald eagles, the Government of India's Uttar Pradesh is building the world's first condor protection and breeding center in Gorakhpur, a major initiative. The center will be inaugurated on September 3 by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The conservation and reproduction centre, which cost Rs 10.6 million, is being built in Farenda, Maharajganj, in the Golekpur Forest Sub-district of Uttar Pradesh.

This conservation centre will also play an important role in the development of the city of Golekpur. Earlier in 2021, Rs 8 million was disbursed for the Redhead Vulture Conservation Centre project.

The opening ceremony will take place on 3 September, also on International Vulture Awareness Day.

Chief Minister Yugi Adianat has allocated a plot of land for its construction. The Yugi government signed a 15-year agreement with the Mumbai Natural History Association to distribute land under which land was allocated.
