La Paz is the de facto capital of Bolivia and the constitutional capital is Sucre.
The best way to get to know the city is to take a cable car ride.
Varas is the highest capital in the world and is surrounded by mountains. The streets are narrow and steep, and traffic jams have always been a problem for local governments.
The Bolivian government spent two years and $234 million to build three cable car lines in 2012, and today a total of nine cable car lines have been built, greatly alleviating the pressure of urban congestion.
Gigi spent nearly three hours riding six of these lines today, spending 17 noirs (the bolivian currency, the exchange rate and the renminbi is basically 1:1), from the densely built slums to the villa areas, to feel a "journey to the sky".
The cable car station is clean and tidy, and the La Paz cable car system won the "Latin American Smart City Award" in 2018.
Although the cable car is not the most perfect mode of transportation, the low cost, convenient transfer, connecting the whole city, I think it is the most suitable way of public transportation for the city.
