World's Largest Victorian Water Lily Discovered – July 4 Scientists at the University of San Andrés, together with colleagues in the United Kingdom and the United States, announce the discovery of a new world-class water lily in Bolivia.

This previously unknown lily species grows in freshwater rivers and ponds in northeastern Bolivia. It has a huge size, the lotus leaves are 3.2 meters wide, and the flowers are larger than a human head.

According to scientist Natalia Puzeromska, this newly discovered water lily can withstand the weight of a baby. The new species was named the Victorian Bolivian water lily, the third giant water lily specimen in the world.
