A three-part series featuring actor and writer Mark Gatis (Gentleman, Doctor, Sherlock Alliance) celebrating the greatest achievement of horror cinema.
Mark reveals the stories behind his favorite 1950s and 1960s films, which sparked a lifelong passion for horror. Dominated by the legendary Hammer films, these British-majority films rewrote the horror rulebook with revolutionary and full-color gore elements — all shot in the native British counties.
Mark meets heavyweights to learn why their Frankenstein and Dracula films conquered the world, making Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing international stars. He saw a new wave of horror following Hammer's, including the glamorous Italian film Black Sunday, and spoke with influential American producer Roger Coleman about his unsettling, fantastic Edgar Allan Poe films. He also explores the interesting cycle of British "folk horror" films, such as Wicker and Mark's personal favorite Blood on Satan's Claws.
