Penguins, known as the "Pride of Antarctica", are a major attraction for Antarctic travel. There are currently 17 species of penguins known in the world, basically living in the southern hemisphere, of which eight species are distributed in Antarctica, three are distributed in Latin America, after landing, watching penguins ashore or into the water is a great pleasure of traveling in Antarctica, another fun is a group of penguins "find differences", today's mention of Humboldt penguins, Galapagos penguins and Magellan penguins, of which Humboldt penguins and Galapagus penguins are close relatives, they are distributed in different latitudes, and it is not easy to live together in the wild. ð§ð§ Magellan penguin
61–76 cm (height), 4–4.7 kg (body weight); appearance characteristics: black back and white front, adults with a symmetrical white band that begins at the eyes, bends backwards on both sides of the head, confluence above the neck, in addition to two black bands under the adult neck; mainly distributed: the southern coast of South America (see Figures 1-3).
ð§ð§ Humboldt penguins
66–70 cm (height), 4–5 kg (body weight); appearance features: grey-black back feathers, white thorax feathers, black head, white stripes under the eyes that surround the sides of the head and connect at the chin to form a horseshoe shape, this species is unique in a solid black chestband; main distribution: endemic to the subtropical Pacific coast of Chile and Peru, which borders the Humboldt Current (see Figure 4-6).
ð§ð§ Galapagos penguins
53 cm (height), 1.7–2.6 kg (body weight); appearance characteristics: the appearance of the body is mainly black, the head is black, there is a white mark, starting from the top of the eyes, backwards, downwards and forwards to the neck, the stripes of the head are the narrowest of the banded penguins; main distribution: 90% inhabit the two larger islands of Fernandina and Isabella in the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador (see Figure 7-9).
