The roof of the house here is mostly made of reeds, which is durable and warm in winter and cool in summer. In the past, the reed was a substitute for the poor who could not afford to buy bricks and tiles, and now the reeds are the building materials that the rich people can afford, and they are very distinctive, and the price is dozens of times that of the bricks and tiles. Today, the land price here has long since risen, and the contrast between time and space and the past has formed, which makes people can't help but feel a thousand emotions.
We rented a small boat and snaked along the canals of the village, chatting and enjoying the scenery, and naturally taking photos. Passing through a small island in the middle of the lake, there is plenty of time, and if you are well prepared, you can go fishing and barbecue. We floated in the canal and on the lake for more than two hours, and the number of tourists gradually increased, the boats in the ditch increased, and the small village became noisy, which was a different feeling from when we first arrived. We just finished our voyage and changed ships ashore.
Booking a hotel or homestay in Giethoorn for a few nights is the most beautiful thing, but remember to book in advance, as the listings here are too tight. Giethoorn can be visited all year round, the best from April to October, a hundred flowers in spring, a variety of activities in summer, and colorful colors in autumn.
