Since the release of Apex Heroes three years ago, developer Rebirth Entertainment has been launching a new hero every new season (about every three months), just like Clockwork. However, Devon McGuire, senior character designer for Apex Heroes, recently said that the team has realized the potential problem of "hero saturation" that may delay the release of new heroes in the future.

In an interview with Dexerto, McGuire talked about the potential balance problems that adding too many heroes too early could cause. Some older heroes have received a number of ability tweaks since the game's release in 2019, so it's no surprise that future developments may slow down.

McGuire explains that while Apex Heroes is more about movement and weapons than hero abilities, those abilities can still upset the game's balance as the season progresses and it becomes increasingly difficult to create characters that are "unique, not too powerful or niche." McGuire explained that the game could reach a "break point" where adding new heroes every season could have a detrimental effect on the game, saying, "Whether this mode will continue is still a topic of discussion, it may not change, but we don't want to saturate the hero pool." ”

For now, Respawn indicates that there are no plans to change the Hero Release Schedule immediately, so this means that players can still see new Hero Releases in Season 14.
