Users unexpectedly found that Foxconn has begun to produce Apple's iPhone 13 in Brazil

IT Home reported on April 28 that although the vast majority of Apple products are assembled in China, Apple OEM Foxconn is also assembling Apple iPhones in some other countries. Now, Foxconn has started producing the iPhone 13 in Brazil, but the iPhone 13 mini doesn't seem to be producing locally.

9to5Mac reader Jo o Menicucci recently bought an iPhone 13 in Brazil. To his surprise, the box showed the product "assembled in Brazil." The model MLP3BR / A confirms that the device was indeed assembled in the country, since the device imported from China sold in Brazil has the identifier "BZ / A".

However, for some unknown reason, it appears that only the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 is assembled at Foxconn Brazil, based at Jundiai in São Paulo.

MacMagazine found that Apple updated the iPhone 13 file at ANATEL (Brazil's telecommunications regulator) on January 24, 2022, using Foxconn Brazil as a production base for the product. The documents also confirm that neither the iPhone 13 mini nor the 13 Pro models will be assembled in Brazil.

Apple has never assembled any Pro models of the iPhone in Brazil, probably because they are much more expensive, and only a few people in emerging countries buy these models, but more affordable models like the iPhone SE and iPhone 11 are already assembled in Brazil.

Brazil imposes high taxes on imports, including almost the entire range of Apple devices. For this reason, there are a number of companies that invest in local assembly businesses. According to a recent report, Apple is also expected to start production of the iPhone 13 in India this month.

IT House understands that the price of the iPhone 13 in Brazil starts at 7599 reais (about 10090 yuan), but users can buy them in retail stores, and the price is even lower, as low as 4,999 reais (about 6640 yuan).
