The "Sullivan model" is one of the biggest differences between the Biden administration and the Trump administration's China strategy, and its core is two points, one is to restore and form an "anti-China alliance" destroyed by the Trump administration to jointly deal with China; the other is to seek coexistence with China on the basis of protecting US interests. This is also the key reason why Biden made two "four noes and one unintentional" commitments at the Sino-US leaders' meeting, but his words and deeds were inconsistent.
In terms of forming an "anti-China alliance," Britain, Australia, and Japan are loyal followers of the United States; the European Union is in a wavering position, repeatedly entangled in the position of economic interests and geopolitical security; while taking advantage of the situation in Ukraine to "kidnap" Europe, the United States has also extended its tentacles to many Asian countries on many occasions. In July and August last year, the United States sent Defense Secretary Austin and Vice President Harris to Vietnam, Cambodia and Singapore to advocate the so-called "Indo-Pacific economic architecture"; in April this year, the White House announced that it would hold a "U.S.-ASEAN Special Summit" in May to deal with China.
In terms of dividing international pro-China forces, Hungary, Pakistan, Indonesia, France, Solomon and other countries have suffered greatly, in the Hungarian election, Orbán was repeatedly attacked by the Western media, and the day after his re-election, Hungary was attacked by the European Union; in early April this year, the United States openly sent a letter to the Pakistani government, asking Prime Minister Imran Khan to step down.
France and Indonesia are the same, French presidential candidate Le Pen was attacked by the US media as a "dangerous politician" because of his voice for China, Indonesia was greatly dissatisfied with the United States because he supported Russia's participation in the G20 summit; Solomon was "questioned" by THE US representatives because of the signing of a security framework agreement with China; in the recent past, when the United States was deliberately dealing with China, it faced a situation of "backyard fire".
On April 24, Nicaraguan Foreign Minister Moncada announced the closure of the offices of American countries in Nepal and decided to withdraw from the organization immediately, while denouncing the hegemonic style of the United States. After the Organization of American States (OAS) is a regional organization of states composed of the United States and Latin American countries, nicaragua announced its withdrawal from the organization as early as last November after severing ties with the Taiwan authorities and resuming diplomatic relations with China, but it has not been effective.
Under a series of differentiated policies of the United States, China anticipated the opportunity of the enemy and laid out in advance to ensure the geopolitical security environment in the Asia-Pacific region. On March 7 and 8, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Pakistan, Afghanistan, and India, and held talks with african foreign ministers and reached a number of consensus; on April 20, Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe had a telephone conversation with the US defense minister to clarify China's position on key issues; on April 25, Wei Fenghe visited Kazakhstan, a major Central Asian country, and held talks with Kazakh President Tokayev.
China and Kazakhstan are a permanent comprehensive strategic partnership, and the two countries have achieved great results in cooperation in the military, economic, energy and other fields. Wei Fenghe pointed out that it is necessary to be vigilant against the behavior of "some big countries" interfering in Central Asia and undermining regional security in Central Asia, and the two countries have reached important consensus on cooperation in the military field such as joint exercises.
Nicaragua's "withdrawal from the group" is only the beginning, and under the hegemonic behavior of the United States, it is believed that more countries will resist it. With the continuous development of the situation, China's geopolitical stance, economic development policy and initiative of a community with a shared future for mankind will be recognized by more countries.
