Heroes of The Times: An In-Depth Introduction to Sogyen

Sogyan is ready to deploy. As a former Overwatch Operations Captain, Sogyen has mastered exquisite planning and leadership skills, and is adept at executing strike plans against the enemy.

As the 33rd hero in the family of heroes, Sogyen has a unique mid-range gameplay experience with outstanding skills for mobility and bombardment. Senior hero designer Josh Noh leads Sorjaen's gameplay development, while narrative designer Miranda Moyer writes most of her in-game voices: the two designers take us on a deep dive into her conceptual design and game style.

Electromagnetic cannon

The main attack mode of the Electromagnetic Gun fires a swift projectile and generates energy when hit. The energy generated by Sojjell's main attack mode will recharge the auxiliary attack mode, and the stored energy can be consumed to shoot a high-intensity shot. "The electromagnetic cannon was the beginning of all of Soggen's design." Noh said. "We wanted to design a mid-range combat hero that focused on precision while keeping players of all levels and game styles entertained." Sogyan is a difficult hero to get started with — the more accurately you aim, the more efficient the output of the electromagnetic cannon will be. She has a very high technical ceiling, and most of the strength lies in the auxiliary attack mode of the electromagnetic cannon.

Her gameplay also highlights the character's personality. "Soggen is a detail-oriented, thoughtful person, so her skills are very demanding on precision. She was a clever tactician, the kind of person who 'thinks twice'. Moyer said.

Jamming bullets

Jamming Bullet is a ranged skill capable of trapping enemies and killing health.

Sojjn can use this skill to improve the efficiency of the electromagnetic cannon.

An early prototype of this skill would deal massive damage to the barrier, but was later determined to be the current version to support her secondary attack mode.

"The 'Jamming Bullet' feature was changed from tearing barriers to slowing down enemies, allowing Sojien's assisted attack mode to hit easily.

You'd better keep an eye on Sojén.

If you're hit by a jamming bomb, she's probably planning to attack you.

Sogyen's mechanical modification capabilities can help her eliminate variables.

Moyer explained.

"The slowing effect of the 'jamming bullet' can improve her hit rate and make the shot more accurate, thus reducing the possibility of error."

Powerful sliding shovel

Sojjn's "power sliding shovel" gives her excellent maneuverability.

You can always use the jump to cancel the rocket shovel and convert it into a leap in the air.

With just the right amount of this skill, Sogyan was able to quickly shift positions.

"We want to equip her with vertical mobility, allowing her to quickly take advantage of the high ground and reinforcing her role as a mobile output hero."

Noh said.

"These abilities are implanted in her mechanically transformed body, allowing her to achieve her goals."

Moyer said.

"Sogyen has undergone many mechanical modifications and upgrades in his life.

She began to undergo the necessary reforms at an early age.

In the end, when she joined the army, she took the initiative to accept the transformation and upgrading.

"Sogyan chose these abilities in order to be the most effective warrior.

In contrast, another hero, Genji, was forced to change into a mechanically modified body.

Body Overclocking (Ultimate Skill)

Sojion's ultimate skill will automatically charge the electromagnetic cannon for a short period of time and allow her shots to penetrate enemies.
