Learning Experiences

Lanfei Lake is good to read. My three years of high school had ups and downs, laughter and tears, and overall, it was a pure and clear time.

Due to physical reasons, I had to apply for a sports exemption in the middle school entrance examination, and the score was much less than that of my classmates, so I had no choice but to miss the best Nobel class of Hefei 168 Middle School when I entered the school. Although I successfully entered this high school of my dreams for a long time, the positioning of the Hongzhi class never made me satisfied. As early as the first year of high school, I combined my personality and hobbies to set an ambition to study humanities and social sciences. In the environment of the first year of high school, which was generally biased toward science, I insisted on focusing on the liberal arts, and used my leisure time to read history books and watch geography documentaries, which broadened my horizons and accumulated knowledge for the next two years of liberal arts studies. In my sophomore year of high school, I was honored to be promoted to the liberal arts stratified class, which is the school's trump card, and has trained five provincial college entrance examination winners in the past seven years. However, coming to a good class does not mean that the next journey is all smooth, and the top teachers and pure environment do not mean that the personal achievements are excellent and stable. After spending my sophomore year of high school focused on absorbing knowledge and ranking in the top three, it was a year of constant frustration waiting for me.

My senior year of high school was particularly bumpy, and almost the entire first semester of my senior year was shrouded in the shadow of the trough. This goes back to the summer vacation after my sophomore year of high school, when I was not able to maintain a good state of study, which caused me to regress twenty or thirty as soon as I started school. At that time, I was still a little proud after attending the Peking University Summer School, and I didn't want to start my junior year of high school with a huge gap, which was tantamount to being poured with cold and cold water, and the inexplicably excessive fear of the third year of high school aggravated the disorder of my learning rhythm, and in the next few months, I never adjusted my state, and always struggled outside the top ten. At that time, I was always too focused on the rankings, no longer focused on the knowledge itself, and from time to time I dreamed of reversing the dismal status quo in the next exam, but I just collided with disappointment again and again. The pride was shattered, and he no longer dared to say that his dream was Peking University. The biggest blow was that on the eve of "One Model", the list of winter camps of Peking University and Tsinghua University was announced one after another, and I, who had not fallen behind in similar activities before, was not listed in it this time.

An early reading in the winter, the night was not fading, the cold wind was cold, the class teacher called me to the corridor to comfort, a sentence "Maybe you should lower the target", instantly shattered the strength I was trying to maintain. Back in his seat, tears poured out irrepressibly, but he could only continue to memorize his notes while constantly wiping away the tears on his face while gritting his teeth. The crash is just an episode, and you always have to start over. Those days when brushstrokes and words are pieced together again in the sea of titles and tears, still faintly smell bitter in retrospect. Fortunately, the long-term persistence finally has its significance, after the "one model", everything gradually improved, and I was close to the dream of Peking University.

But the ups and downs are not over. Less than a month before the gaokao, I had to be hospitalized due to a severe drug allergy. Physical pain is not important, the mental test is the most torturous, and in the days of anxiously waiting to be discharged, I am even mentally prepared to fight again in the next year. Fortunately, the teachers' care, encouragement and firm trust, as well as the enthusiastic support and help of the students, gave me the courage not to stop. As soon as I returned to school, I threw myself into the battle again with the spirit of twelve points, and in the last few weeks, I did not hesitate, only went all out. On the evening of June 6, I was always nervous and anxious before the exam, and I only had a piece of stability and peace in my heart. In the two days of the college entrance examination, everything was in order, and it was usually the same as any mock exam in the past.

Today, when I walk on the shore of the unnamed lake, the sunset reflects the beautiful scenery of the lake light tower, which always awakens the memories of late reading that are full of strong high school atmosphere: the purple sunset illuminates not only the heavy books at hand, but also the flying youth and dreams.

Learning Methods

First, about the mentality

In the perception of many people, the three years of high school are hard and exhausting, and they need to be struggled through. However, in my opinion, the experience of immersing oneself in knowledge and topics, and sparing no effort to run to the dream, is incomparably better in itself. We need to realize that learning itself is a beautiful thing, and that achievement should be an adjunct to the water. Holding such a belief in the love of learning can promote a stable and positive state of mind and bring a happy and upward learning experience, which helps to improve efficiency and concentration, and improve learning results.

A positive mindset can be trained. High-intensity study is inevitably exhausting, but we may as well focus more on the joy of advancing one inch by day, and constantly motivate and use the lessons of the past to constantly spur us. Of course, proper rest is also necessary, and the strings that are always tight cannot shoot farther arrows.

In the face of sometimes less than ideal test results, we need to note that wrong questions and question orientation are more important parts of a mock exam than rankings. Depression can be, crying can be, emotions are unavoidable, but we should work hard to digest it and transform new energy, rather than repeatedly chewing and doubting ourselves.

Second, about bilingualism

Both subjects, Chinese and English, require a lot of reading. Even in the late years of my junior year of high school, I didn't stop reading extracurricular books, and both before studying in the evening and before going to bed at night were my reading time. From "Metabolism in Modern China" to "The Three-Body Problem", including some original English books, through these words that are not so directly pointed to fractions, my tension in my senior year of high school has been eased, and I have accumulated a certain reading literacy and collected many materials for the composition.

Third, about the comprehensive text

All three subjects of political history need to be memorized, but none of them can be learned well by recitation alone. Politics is one of the most dependent on textual memory, we must clearly grasp every book, every unit, every lesson, and every knowledge point, and build a mind map in our minds. At the same time, it is also necessary to pay attention to current political hot spots, accumulate and firmly grasp some hot words in current politics.

History needs literacy and expansion. When doing the questions, pay attention to starting from the material, and usually read more history-related books, rather than being limited to textbooks. The perspective of historical research is rich and changeable, and the interpretation of the same event from different angles may be completely different, and it is extremely taboo to limit single thinking.

Geography requires a great deal of mastery of extracurricular phenomena and principles. Documentaries and magazines are good ways to learn about the world, and when you have enough time, you can watch carefully and take some notes. At the same time, geographical topics are often logical and rigorous, and carefully pondering the real problems of previous years can always find many interesting details, which prompts us to think more and think about it when doing the questions.

Fourth, about mathematics

Personally, I think that the most critical thing in high school math learning is to listen carefully to lectures and summarize. The content of the summary includes wrong questions, special or difficult question types, and some knowledge points that require additional attention, and it is important to note that rewriting the wrong questions must not just copy the answers. Sorting out the wrong question book and flipping through it before the exam is far more efficient than the blind sea tactic.
