The Municipal Health Commission reported this morning (10th): At 0-24:00 on February 9, 2022, 8 new confirmed cases of imported new coronary pneumonia were reported through the joint prevention and control mechanism at ports. There were 21 new cured and discharged cases, including 5 cases from the United States, 3 cases from the United Kingdom, 3 cases from Russia, 1 case from Canada, 1 case from Finland, 1 case from Senegal, 1 case from Sri Lanka, 1 case from Serbia, 1 case from Japan, 1 case from Switzerland, 1 case from Nigeria, 1 case from France, and 1 case from Germany.

Case 1, a Chinese national working in Canada, departed from Canada and arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on 4 February 2022, where he was placed under centralized isolation and observation after entering customs, during which he developed symptoms. Combined with epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, and imaging findings, the diagnosis is confirmed as a confirmed case.

Case 2 is a Chinese national, studying in the UK, departing from the UK, transiting through Finland, arriving at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on 4 February 2022, and was placed under centralized isolation and observation after entering customs, during which he developed symptoms. Combined with epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, and imaging findings, the diagnosis is confirmed as a confirmed case.

Case 3, a Korean national living in South Korea, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on 4 February 2022 and was placed under centralized quarantine and observation after entering customs, during which he developed symptoms. Combined with epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, and imaging findings, the diagnosis is confirmed as a confirmed case.

Cases 4-6 are both Chinese nationals, studying in Canada, departing from Canada, taking the same flight, arriving at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on 5 February 2022, and were placed under centralized isolation and observation after entering customs, during which they developed symptoms. Combined with epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, and imaging findings, the diagnosis is confirmed as a confirmed case.

Cases 7 and 8, both korean nationals, living in South Korea, departed from South Korea, took the same flight, arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport on 7 February 2022, and were placed under centralized quarantine and observation after entering customs, during which they developed symptoms. Combined with epidemiological history, clinical symptoms, laboratory tests, and imaging findings, the diagnosis is confirmed as a confirmed case.

Eight imported confirmed cases have been transferred to designated medical institutions for treatment, and 86 close contacts of the same flight have been traced, and all of them have been put under centralized isolation and observation.

At 0-24:00 on February 9, 2022, there were no new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia in the mainland.

At 0-24:00 on February 9, 2022, 2 cases of asymptomatic infection were released from medical observation.

As of 24:00 on February 9, 2022, the cumulative number of imported confirmed cases abroad was 3,466, 3,251 cases were discharged from hospital, and 215 cases were treated in hospital. There is currently 1 suspected case to be investigated.

As of 24:00 on February 9, 2022, the cumulative number of locally confirmed cases was 392, 383 cases were cured and discharged from hospital, 2 cases were treated in hospital, and 7 cases died. There are currently 0 suspected cases to be investigated.

As of 24:00 on February 9, 2022, there were 4 cases of indigenous asymptomatic infection under medical observation.
