Blade Runner Chronicles

This Blade Runner 2049 is largely consistent with the previous work, whether it is style, tone, character selection, ideological connotation, timeline, are closely related to the previous work, and before the release of the film, the official also gave three short films to complete some of the events in the 30 years from 2019 to 2049.

They are, 2022: The Great Power Outage, 2036: Dawn of the Replicants, and 2048: Nowhere to Escape. These short films can be watched on YouTube, and the b station also has a corresponding translated version.

Of course, the official also gives a more detailed chronicle, I think before watching the movie, if you can understand the overall world view of Blade Runner will help to understand the plot.

Early 21st century: Terry invents replicants, which are physically enhanced for extraterrestrial exploration, but after a bloody rebellion by replicants, replicants are banned on Earth.

2019: Several Chain 6 Replicants return from aliens, and they eventually kill Terry's chairman, Elton Terry, the same year, Blade Runner Deca and Terry's replicant Rachel escape from Los Angeles.

2020: Terry launches a new replicant chain, No. 8, which has a normal human lifespan, but their right eye has a mark that can identify them.

2022: A nuclear bomb explodes over the west coast of the United States, causing the city to lose power for weeks, while Terry explodes and most of the information about the Chain 8 replicants is destroyed, while the great power outage has caused a huge impact on the economy, food supplies, and many people are plunged into darkness and hunger.

2023: Suspected of being the cause of the power outage, the government introduces a replicant ban, and some replicants survive after escaping capture.

2025: Wallace genetically engineers food shortages and his company grows bigger.

2028: Wallace acquires the remnants of Terry Corporation.

1930s: Wallace refined Terry's technology to make replicants controllable and loyal.

2036: The replicant ban is lifted and Wallace launches a chain of 9 replicants.

Early 2040s: The Los Angeles Police Department re-employs blade runners in the Chain 9 Replicants, finding older replicants and executing them.

2048: A chain of Type 8 replicants is recognized in the downtown area, and the hunt for replicants begins.

In two of the three official short films, sapper Morton, a replicant of the Chain 8, survived a major power outage, but was spotted in the main film in 48 years in order to save a friend he cared about, and the first incident was the pursuit of the blade killer "k" played by Commander Ryan.
