There is a single variety of white melon, only the difference between pure breed and variant, or slightly different depending on the origin.

Lanzhou white melon, ripe in mid and late July, the fruit is nearly spherical, the skin is pure white, the sunny surface is yellow, the white is slightly emerald green, 3 to 3.2 cm thick, soft, fragrant, juicy and sweet, sugar content of 10 to 14.5%, the flavor is gratifying. White orchid melon is a hermaphroditic unisex flowering plant, which is easy to cross with other varieties of melon to produce variety melons. Most of the varieties are oval in shape, red in color, light in taste, insufficient in aroma, and slightly stalked in flesh.

Xinjiang white orchid melon, produced in Changji, ripens in late August, and the fruit is round. Melon skin is green, ripe and yellowish white, the surface is smooth, the melon flesh is emerald green, the near part is white, the flesh is soft, fully ripe after mellow and strong, the sugar content is 13.5%, and the single melon weighs about 5 catties.
