On the 13th, Washington Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler condemned President Trump's decision to immediately stop providing federal subsidies to insurance companies, saying that it was a "devastating blow" to thousands of people in the state and would threaten the stability of the individual health insurance market.
According to the Associated Press, Clydler said in a statement that he would consider further actions to challenge Trump's decision and "protect the consumer and individual health insurance markets." ”
The White House noted that the administration cannot legally continue to pay so-called cost-sharing subsidies because it lacks a formal mandate from Congress. The Federal Ministry of Health and Human Services said later on the 12th that it would "immediately" stop providing subsidies. Trump posted on Twitter on the 13th, asking the Democratic side to make a decision, saying that "the Democratic Obamacare will explode." ”
The suspension subsidy may lead to a sharp increase in premiums next year.
A spokesman for the State Insurance Commissioner's Office revealed that more than 330,000 people in Huazhou have purchased health insurance through the state's individual health insurance market, and more than 70,000 people are eligible for subsidies.
Tara Lee, a spokesman for Washington Governor Insley, wrote in an email that Insley believes the Trump administration's attempt to repeal the Obama-era law is "a deliberate, relentless destruction of the personal health insurance of millions of Americans that will directly hurt middle-class families and cause chaos and instability in the health care market."
