Yu Bin, head coach of the Chinese Go team: Our era will eventually come, and we will win twenty-one championships in seven years

Yu Bin (head coach of the Chinese national Go team), alias: Fish Head, "Jiangnan Caizi", "Washing Machine", "Children's Regiment Leader". His father, Yu Ciwei, graduated from Hangzhou Commercial School in 1958 and served as the director of the Tiantai County Bureau of Statistics. His mother, Xu Xingyuan, worked as a teacher at Tiantai Chengguan No.4 Primary School and later worked at Tiantai Distillery (now Shiliang Liquor Group Company) until his retirement. Mrs. Wang Yiqing, daughter Yu Antong. Yu Bin can arrange computer programs, Japanese, English, can play guitar, piano, has the reputation of "Go show talent". Born on April 6, 1967 in Tiantai County, Zhejiang Province, he learned Go at the age of 7, entered the sports school at the age of 11, and entered the training team at the age of 12. In 1991, it was upgraded to nine dan. Winner of the 9th and 16th Asian Television Quick Chess Tournament, and in May 2000, he was the champion of the 4th LG Cup World Chess Championship. The 7th and 8th Chinese Chess Champion. In 2007, Yu Bin became the coach of the national women's Go team. In 2008, she led the Chinese women's national Go team to win all 3 gold medals in women's Go at the first World Mind Games. In 2009, he succeeded Ma Xiaochun as the head coach of the Chinese national Go team. In the 2000 China Top Ten Athletes Selection, the only representative of Chinese Go to be included in the candidate was Yu Bin.

After Yu Bin became the head coach of the Chinese national Go team, a total of 11 world champions were born, including Kong Jie, Park Wenyao, Jiang Weijie, Zhou Ruiyang, Shi Yue, Fan Tingyu, Chen Yaoye, Mi Yuting, Tang Weixing, Feng Jiaxi and Ke Jie. That is to say, of the 31 world championship titles won by Chinese chess players so far, 21 have been won during Yu Bin's seven years as head coach.

"Maybe I don't have too many desires, my mind can calm down, and I can spend more time on Go when I get older." Yu Bin said.

In the Chinese Weiqi world, Yu Bin, the current head coach of the Chinese Weiqi team, is a notoriously good person - low-key, gentle, warm, cautious...

After Yu Bin was elected as the head coach of the Chinese Go team through the competition, many people pinched a sweat for this "good old man" - can he suppress these star chess players of the national team? Not really. Yu Bin, who has been plotting on the chessboard for many years, also has his own set of management, "You can't treat yourself as an official, every day with a shady face, who sees you not hiding?" Yu Bin said that as a coach of the Go team, the most important thing is to do a good job in service and communicate with them more, "so that my advantages of good popularity will be useful, they regard me as a friend, what else can I do?" ”

Cultivating ten "Coules" outweighs the number of championships

In those years, Korean chess players were very fierce in the World Championships, and at the beginning of his term, Yu's head coach publicly said: "I don't like to say how many championships I will win in the future, I value ten Coules more than one!" And he also said at the time that he would try to lead the team to surpass South Korea within five years. Five years have not yet passed, and his goal has been fully achieved.

Today's Go battle is between China and South Korea. "Compared to South Korea, our world champions are not many." Yu Bin said that South Korea is a point to lead the face, their top chess players are particularly strong, and some mediocre people have also been brought up. We are developing steadily, one generation is stronger than the next, so five years later, our Leopard generation is in the right time to fight, and it will definitely be able to reverse the situation. ”

Our time will come

"China's men's Go, now in the Warring States stage, is competing for supremacy, and the world championship is taken by these young players in turn. But the world will be united for a long time, and I firmly believe that the national team's wolf tactics, if they can break through the siege, will inevitably become leaders in the near future. Yu Bin talked about the current trend of Go.

"In ancient times, there was less Go training to play Go, so the improvement of skills was a slow process, which continued until the development of the professionalization of Go at the beginning of this century, and now There are more Go players, more exchanges, and faster promotion, so they often reach their peak in their youth." It is not so much that professionalization has shortened the careers of players, but rather that professionalization has made Go more popular, less mysterious, and faster. Our 'post-95s' players are still in the ascendant stage, and they need more opportunities to hone themselves, not to the extent of full succession. Once they mature, the era of Chinese Go full dominance will come. Yu Bin said.

Yu Bin is known as the "evergreen tree" of the chess world, but he is not shrouded in the aura of a world champion, and he continues to explore and pursue for his beloved Go. In this regard, he believes that this is because he has a "pure heart" . Yu Bin revolutionized Chinese Go software. His chess game management program and integral arrangement program are still widely used today. When he was the head coach, he also wrote out the schedule of the national team and the statistics of the world results of Chinese chess players, which also counted the achievements of Chinese chess players in world competitions over the years, filling a gap in data management.

Song Ronghui won the women's individual gold medal at the first World Mind Games

At the end of the 1990s, the national Go team revoked the position of head coach and transferred it to the management of the Weiqi Department of the China Chess Academy. In July 2005, in view of the unsatisfactory results of Chinese chess players in the World Championships, Wang Runan, the president of the China Chess Academy at the time, asked Ma Xiaochun jiuduan to come out of the mountain and serve as the head of the coaching team of the national team. Three years later, the Chinese Chess Academy decided to reinstate the position of head coach, with Ma Xiaochun and Yu Bin competing for the job. On January 8, 2009, the national Go team held a head coach competition meeting at the China Chess Academy, and Ma Xiaochun Jiudan and Yu Bin Jiudan read their competition reports in public, followed by 45 national team players voting. Yu Bin has received considerable public support.

The full text of the report of Yu Bin's bid to hire the head coach of the national Go team

Hello everyone! I am Yu Bin.

Today I am competing for the position of head coach of the national Go team.

As the saying goes, "forty is not confused", this year I am 42. In addition to playing chess in the past few years, I have also thought about some problems in life, and I have gradually figured out two problems.

One problem is that everything I have now is given by Go, and I thank Go. Because of this, I also want to do something for our Go career. Looking back on the road I have traveled before, as a professional chess player, I have been fighting for more than 30 years. Although the world of victory and defeat is very cruel, overall, my personal feeling is still very happy. The reason for the happiness is that I had good luck and won the world championship. Also, the blessing of to go has reached the level of my recognition in terms of money. It can be said that Go has given me all this now. So I want to give back to Go and make some contributions to the cause of Go.

The second question, I want to understand the problem of people's sense of belonging. I think a person needs a collective, a sense of belonging. I joined the national team in '83 and have been living in a single dormitory, and if you do the math, even so far, I have lived in a single dormitory much longer than my family life. Every day, I come to the team to discuss chess with the chess players, and I am very happy. I think my belonging should also be in the big group of Go.

To understand the above two problems, it is also a matter of the past few years. Many years ago (about 1998), Dean Hua asked me to come out and do some work other than chess players, but at that time I didn't think very clearly. And this time, at about the end of 2006, I took the initiative to go to Dean Hua and talk about my ideas, hoping to do what I could for Go while being a chess player. President Hua was very supportive of me, and after about a year or so, that is, at the end of 2007, I was arranged to be the coach of the national women's team.

Having said so much above, the main thing I am talking about is a journey of my heart, and I also want to illustrate one thing, that is, "I am willing to do some work on Go." That is to say, we chess players often say that "chess is your own down".

Next I would like to talk about some of my thoughts if I were to compete for the head coach of the national Go team.

Now the national Go team consists of three parts, one is the men's team, one is the women's team, and the other is the junior team.

On the men's side, my basic judgment is that we are in a strong upward phase. Compared with our main opponent, South Korea, our overall thickness is thicker than that of the Korean team, and behind this situation, I think it is due to the following aspects. We have a hierarchical system, a good league, a fair quota selection mechanism in the team, and a harmonious training atmosphere in the national team training room. I will try my best to maintain these good traditions, and at the same time do a good job of communication and service with chess players, so that all players are willing to work hard to improve their chess skills and catch up with South Korea as soon as possible.

However, in terms of top chess players, although Coulee is becoming more and more mature, South Korea's big and small Lee is still our heart disease. It will also be my focus to study the characteristics of big and small plums, while identifying the weaknesses of our top chess players and strengthening them in a targeted manner.

In terms of the women's team, when I took over last year, the level was relatively low, and what I needed most was hand-to-hand teaching. After this year's efforts, the level of the women's team has improved significantly. However, the overall level is still a bit different from the strongest ones in South Korea. Next, the hand-to-hand teaching is still very needed, and I think the management of the women's team is also very important, and I will assist the women's team coach and do a good job in management.

In terms of the junior team, in terms of level alone, the level of the junior team is still significantly higher than that of the women's team. Unlike the women's team, teaching me by hand is secondary. However, the selected players are relatively young and lack self-awareness. So I think the most critical thing about the national junior team is that it needs strict management, and it is very strict management. My initial idea is to formulate a strict training schedule, arrange a high-intensity training task, and ensure that the young chess player's mind and time are on Go through external pressure.

Through the year of coaching the women's team, I have also accumulated some experience in coaching management. At the mobilization meeting the day before yesterday, Secretary Chu put forward ten requirements for the head coach of the Go team, compared with these ten requirements, I feel that there is still a gap, but I think that as long as there is a "correct work attitude + modest and studious mentality", and continuous progress in practical work, we will definitely be able to do better and better.

This time, there is a second choice on the competition form. My second choice was to be a women's team coach. I have been a coach of the women's team for this year, I am very happy, here I would like to thank the women's team members, in the past year, can seriously cooperate with me, excellent completion of the training task. Especially Song Ronghui, the day you won the championship was the happiest day I had last year. If I lose the head coach, I will also do a good job as a women's team coach with the same working attitude and mentality.

Today's competition for the head coach of the national Go team here is also the first time for me, and I am still a little nervous, hoping to get the recognition of the chess players here.

Finally, please vote for me. Thank you!

For the national Go team head coach Yu Bin excellent work ability and diligent work attitude. As Hua Xueming said in an interview: "I believe that as long as you keep trying to do one thing, you will be able to achieve a good result in the end." During his time as the coach of the women's team, Yu Bin often played chess with a group of girls on the national team, and when playing chess, not only Yu Bin was in the main lecture, but also almost step by step dismantling, and the attitude of following the good and seducing was indeed awe-inspiring. Therefore, the improvement of women's Go performance Yu Bin can be described as indispensable.

Yu Bin left early and returned late. He has little social interaction, can push external activities, the biggest pleasure is to play chess with chess players to study, after serving as the head coach, his fun is still here. Even the latest changes studied by the post-90s chess players are also counted. Now Yu Bin has become more and more accustomed to the role of "head coach", when playing, he will judge the situation of the chess game at the first time and notify all parties; he can talk to the media after the game and win a relaxed environment for the participating players. As long as there is a competition, Yu Bin will definitely be on the scene. He was always in the research room, eating lunch for fear of delay, and was the most popular chess speaker among media reporters; after the game, he and the chess players conducted targeted research. Except for the contestants, there is no one busier than Yu Bin!

Go is a partial and round elf, and the master is proud of the world, which requires not only superb martial arts, but also some luck. "Fish Marshal" is one of the more fortunate ones, he was laughed at as "a good man with a good heart will have a good reward to follow."

Let us bless Yu Bin and bless The Chinese Go!

At the end of last month, Yu Bin, head coach of the national Go team and world champion, visited the headquarters of Yike this morning and gave cordial guidance and encouragement to the future development of Yike.
