Both invaded Vietnam and fought a long war, but both ended up with heavy losses. Why is that?
From the analysis of geographical advantages, China and Vietnam are neighbors, with borders on the territory and similar climate and topography. This advantage allowed the Chinese army to act quickly in the war, occupy favorable terrain, seize the initiative on the battlefield, and effectively strike at the Vietnamese army. In contrast, the United States and France, as invaders, are far from home, and logistical problems are difficult to solve, and they are easily dragged down by a war of attrition.
In addition, our army has strong combat effectiveness and high morale. The counterattack was a just war to defend the country's territory and sovereignty, and the soldiers all fought with the belief of defending their homeland and country.
This strong sense of justice and responsibility enables soldiers to exert their greater potential and achieve greater victories in war. At the same time, the Chinese army adopted effective strategies and tactics in the war, such as rapid penetration, division and encirclement, and artillery as the main fire attack, which made it difficult for the Vietnamese army to deal with it.
