Teachers and students of Huiwen School visited the museum to learn about Hakka culture and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the countryside to broaden their horizons

On May 18, 2024, International Museum Day, nearly 100 students from the Literature Club of Meijiang District Huiwen School, under the leadership of teachers, went to Shukeng Village, Chengdong Town, Meixian District, to visit the main hall of Meizhou Rural Impression Museum, the Ancient Post Road Photography Exhibition, the Sketching Meizhou Rural Grassroots Art Exhibition, and also experienced the traditional Hakka plant dye dyeing cloth. After lunch, the students also visited the Hakka Museum in China. Many students walked into the museum for the first time and generally felt that they had gained a lot.

Meizhou Rural Impression Museum is a folk museum with distinctive rural characteristics, since its establishment last year, it has continuously improved its facilities and enriched its exhibits, attracting many tourists from Meizhou to visit, and has been valued and affirmed by the leaders of cultural departments and propaganda departments at all levels. This year, the Hakka Museum of China and the museum carried out co-construction activities, which further enriched the content of the exhibition and strengthened the characteristics of the countryside. The teachers and students of Huiwen School were also attracted by the characteristics of the Countryside Impression Museum, and took advantage of today's International Museum Day to visit Shukeng Village.

In the Meizhou Rural Impression Museum, seeing so many Hakka folk exhibits for the first time, the students felt very novel and interesting, and took out their mobile phones to take pictures and records.

In the folk customs column, the students had a strong interest in traditional customs and festivals such as the Shukeng Village Zuofu Festival and the Sun Birthday in Bingcun, and understood the origin of these folk customs and habits.

A 28-inch old bicycle with a green parcel of "China Post" hanging on both sides of the shelf attracted the attention of the students. Nowadays, wireless communication in China is very developed, and everyone uses mobile phones, and they can sit at home and video chat with distant relatives in real time, without having to write letters about everything as in the past. The students lamented that the rapid development of science and technology has brought great convenience to people's lives.

The old porcelain on the second floor also aroused the interest of many students, and the beautiful vase was the most attractive, and a group of people talked about the vase, and some people even stood in front of the old porcelain to take pictures.

An ancient poem chanting Zhou Xi by the predecessors also attracted the interest of the members of the literary club, and everyone concentrated on appreciating the ancient poem and discussed it in a whisper.

The graphic materials that introduce local tourist attractions such as Dadong Rock, Yau Rock Temple, and Thousand Buddha Pagoda Temple are also attractive, and you see, how seriously students read them.

Although this female classmate is not tall, she is short and concise, and she is very outstanding in the museum, and she knows that she must be a veteran by looking at her photo pose. When I was interviewed by a reporter from Meizhou TV, in the face of the reporter and the camera, I was so impressed by my calm expression, it seems that the quality of the students in Huiwen School is really good!

In the dyeing field, students follow the teacher's guidance, use rubber bands to tie the square cloth tightly, or clamp it with clamps, and then put the cloth into a basin filled with dye to dip and dye, and after 3 minutes, take it out to rinse and dry, and then you can get the works dyed with colors and different patterns.

The Ancient Post Road Photography Exhibition is also one of today's visit projects, and the students were surprised to see the beautiful natural scenery of Meizhou in the photos, and many people sighed that there are so many beautiful places in Meizhou.

After seeing these beautiful landscape photos, the students said that they would go out more in the future to see the beautiful scenery of Meizhou, learn from the photographers, and use their mobile phones or cameras to faithfully record and vigorously promote the beautiful scenery of Meizhou.

"Sketching Meizhou - Rural Grassroots Art Exhibition" is one of the most down-to-earth projects that students visited today, co-sponsored by Chengdong Rural Art Museum and Sketching Meizhou, undertaken by Meizhou Rural Impression Museum, and guided by Meizhou Cultural Center.

The students walked through the country roads of Shukeng Village and witnessed the artists of Meizhou sketching in the countryside, and felt very curious, and gathered around to watch them paint.

On the roof of the Village Art Museum, three painters stand or sit, facing the vast field, and write the rural beauty of Shukeng Village into the painting. Some female classmates watched with relish, and their peers urged them to be reluctant to leave, and one female student secretly ran back to continue watching the painter sketch and take pictures with her mobile phone.
