As 12306 customer service said, the railway department does not make a hard and fast rule on the gender of announcers. Recorded broadcasts are more for convenience and uniformity, and have nothing to do with whether the announcer is male or female.
Insisting on women as service workers is in itself a disguised form of gender discrimination. Everyone should have equal employment opportunities, and meritocracy is the right way. Equating women with the service industry is also unfair to women.
