Summer has arrived, the lychees are getting red, and the ancient Liyuan Che pastoral area in the Lu section of Sheephorn Town is crowded. The viewing area was packed, and many children sat on the shoulders of adults, stretching their necks just to see the performance on stage. The thousand-year-old Liyuan is ready for a musical heatwave.
According to the organizers, the "Ancient Li-in-Love" Maonan Country Singer Contest uses Guli as a means of "encouragement", and is aimed at music lovers who were born or worked in Maonan District, or engaged in work related to Maonan villages, or love Maonan rural culture, or are willing to empower Maonan rural revitalization, encouraging local rural singers to express their love for their hometown with singing, and excavating and carrying forward the local culture and rural revitalization stories with local characteristics.
At the audition site, contestants from various towns and streets in Maonan broke the boundaries of occupation and geography and sang the strongest voice in the countryside in their hearts. Some of them are lychee growers, some are rural teachers who love singing, and some are college students with musical dreams...... Through the medium of music, the competition will bring together music lovers from various towns and streets in Maonan to inject new vitality into urban-rural integration and rural revitalization.
No. 4 contestant Zhang Ling grew up listening to Cantonese opera with his father, and his favorite is the song "Ode to Lychee".
As one of Maonan's precious "native products" and "living cultural relics", lychee is like a witness to history, witnessing the changes of the times. They are not only the marks of the years, but also the bond that connects the emotions of generations of Maonan people, and conveys the warmth and memories of their hometown. No. 4 contestant Zhang Ling grew up listening to Cantonese opera with his father, and his favorite is the song "Ode to Lychee". The singing of "Ode to Lychee" in this competition also wants to sing the taste of hometown in memory. "My hometown has a long history of lychees, and as a Maonan person, I hope that the local characteristics can be seen by more people." Zhang Ling said.
Also choosing to play with "Ode to Lychee" is No. 27 player Lai Yangqing. "I grew up in a lychee orchard and have indescribable memories of lychees. The Lychee Garden can be said to have contracted my entire childhood memories, and the most memorable is singing under the lychee trees with my friends when I was a child. Lai Yangqing said that this competition is also to promote the dissemination of Cantonese opera, an intangible cultural heritage.

The folk song conveys the rural rhyme, and the rural sound contains the nostalgia. No. 17 contestant Zeng Yanzhu signed up as soon as she learned about the Maonan Country Singer Competition. She said that although she is only an amateur singer, there are many music "bigwigs" participating in this competition, and she can learn from each other, which is a rare opportunity to show herself. It is lychee season, and she thinks that "Maoming Lychee Red" is suitable for singing lychees and promoting her hometown.

I like to listen to "Ode to Lychee" the most, and I often hum a few words, I think No. 4 Zhang Ling sings the best. Grandma Cheng, a villager who lives in Luduan Village, fanned her fan to the rhythm of the music and said to a reporter from the Southern Rural Daily. The uncles wearing straw hats on the side had just returned from their lychee garden, and he sighed: "This event is good, there are songs we love to listen to, and there are also young people who love to listen, and the ancient liyuan has not been so lively for a long time!" ”
Maonan District has a thousand-year-old lychee planting culture, and there are 4,996 ancient lychee trees over 100 years old in the district. Located in Giethoorn Town, Luduan Ancient Lychee Garden is known as the oldest, most numerous, most concentrated and oldest litchi ancient tree garden in China, covering an area of more than 500 acres, with a total of 463 ancient lychee trees, all of which are more than 100 years old, the oldest of which is 1936 years old, which is the oldest lychee tree that can be examined in China.
At present, Maonan thoroughly implements the "High-quality Development Project of 100 Counties, Thousands of Towns and Thousands of Villages" of the Provincial Party Committee, innovates and explores the "Lychee Marketing" model, holds a series of Maonan Lychee Marketing Actions, and integrates resources related to Lychee agriculture, rural areas, enterprises, cultural tourism and other resources with industrial co-ordination, and publicizes and displays the history and culture, production technology, industrial scale and development effectiveness of Maonan Lychee in an all-round, multi-angle and multi-level manner, creates a strong atmosphere of "grasping quality, building brands, and promoting sales", polishes the gold-lettered signboard of "Maonan high-quality agricultural products", and builds rural revitalization at a high level Maonan model", so that the "small specialty" of lychee has become a big industry that enriches the people and rejuvenates the village.
