At 12:55 p.m. today (May 4), the inner guardrail of the eighth and fourth span of the eighth span of the North Approach Bridge of the Longtan Yangtze River Bridge, which was constructed by China Railway Bridge Bureau Group, began to be poured, marking the official opening of the construction of the superstructure guardrail of the North Approach Bridge, and one step closer to the completion of the whole bridge.

The reporter learned that the guardrail of the A6 North Approach Bridge of the Longtan Yangtze River Bridge is divided into two forms. The first, second, third and fourth steel-concrete composite beams are equipped with HA grade steel guardrails, and the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth steel-concrete composite beams are SS grade concrete guardrails. The concrete guardrail is 1.205 meters high, 0.23 meters wide at the top and 0.525 meters wide at the bottom, and is poured with C35 concrete. At the top of the pier at the position of the non-expansion joint of the continuous beam, the guardrail is provided with a broken joint, with a width of 2 cm. The fracture is filled with waterproof sealant asphalt mastic, the width of the joint at the expansion joint of the bridge deck is the same as the width of the end joint of the beam, and the concrete guardrail is provided with a false joint every 3~5 meters, with a width of 3 mm and a depth of 20 mm. The length of the guardrail pouring is 26 meters, with a total of 13 square meters of concrete. There is a longitudinal slope of 2.5% in the direction of the longitudinal bridge of the Longtan Yangtze River Bridge, and there is a diameter of about 8km in the direction of the first to sixth cross-bridge, so the linear control of the guardrail has become one of the key points of the guardrail construction. In order to ensure the overall alignment of the guardrail, technicians and surveyors closely monitor and strictly control the horizontal position and vertical elevation of the guardrail during the construction operation.
