Lin Chuanlong, president of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, lit the incense to announce the start of the security patrol. Accompanied by the sound of drums, the statue of Mazu left the temple hall surrounded by devotees and headed for the patrol destination. Along the way, people sincerely bow to Mazu and pray for peace, health, and happiness. In addition to the team escorting the statue of Mazu, a team dressed in traditional Chinese cheongsam, a special Yangko team and an overseas Chinese performance group also participated in the patrol.
Members of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce said that this patrol activity is not only a commemoration and gratitude to Mazu, but also an emotional exchange, and a inheritance of the excellent traditional Chinese culture. No matter where overseas Chinese are, they always have their hearts set on their ancestral (home) country. The Chinese Chamber of Commerce will also continue to use the Mazu faith as a link to contribute to the people-to-people exchanges between China and Japan.
