Anthony Davis (born March 11, 1993 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American professional basketball player who plays as a power forward/center for the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA.
In the 2012 NBA Draft, Anthony Davis was selected by the New Orleans Hornets (now the New Orleans Pelicans) as a draft pick, and entered the NBA, playing for the Hornets (Pelicans) and Lakers in his career, was named to the All-Rookie First Team in his rookie season, the All-NBA First Team and All-Defensive Second Team in 2014-15, and the All-NBA First Team and All-Defensive Second Team in 2016-17. In 2017-18, he was named to the All-NBA First Team and All-Defensive First Team and won the Block of the Year Award, and in 2019-20, he was named to the All-NBA First Team and All-Defensive First Team, and helped the Lakers win the NBA championship; 8-time All-Star Team selection, 2017 All-Star MVP; In October 2021, he was selected as one of the 75 superstars of the NBA.
In 2012, Anthony Davis won the men's basketball championship at the London Olympics with the American Dream 10. In 2014, Anthony Davis won the men's basketball World Cup with Team USA.
Pelicans period 2012-13 season Selected as a top pick by the Pelicans On June 29, 2012, Anthony Davis was selected by the New Orleans Hornets with the first pick in the first round of the 2012 NBA Draft as the draft pick. On July 19, 2012, the Hornets and Anthony Davis signed a four-year contract worth $23.2 million, including the summer 2014 and 2015 options. The second player to score at least 55 points and 20 rebounds in a single game.
On February 24, 2016, Anthony Davis scored 9 points and 20 rebounds against the Pelicans on the road to the Wizards, bringing his total number of rebounds for the season to 515. In addition, Davis scored 1,200 points and 109 blocks, respectively, becoming the first player in the league to score at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 100 blocks this season. Against the Kings On January 31, 2018, the Pelicans lost 103-114 at home to the Kings, and Anthony Davis played 36 minutes, scored 23 points and 13 rebounds, and scored his 210th career double-double, surpassing Chris Paul (209) and rising to the top of the Pelicans' all-time double-double list.
