On April 15, the 2022 Aranya Theatre Festival was officially announced, and this year's Aranya Theatre Festival will be launched again from June 16 to 26 in Aranya, Qinhuangdao. The theme of this year's Aranya Theatre Festival is "Moments and Eternity", and the main visual poster was also released on the same day. The specific program list will be announced and invoiced at the end of April.
For the theme of this year's festival, "Moment and Eternity", Meng Jinghui, Artistic Director of the Aranya Theatre Festival, explained: "The moment is love, eternity is memory; the moment is collective revelry, eternity is self-exile; the moment is listening and watching, eternity is freedom and destruction; the moment is the footprint, the eternity is the road; the waves are the moment, the sea is the eternity; life is the moment, the moment is the eternity..."
Meng Jinghui said that he hopes that through the theme of "instant and eternity", more interesting ideas will land on the seashore, hoping that this adventure about drama and dreams, experiments on life and passion, let beauty and fly become important moments in your life, and also let the theater festival have more diverse, open and inclusive theater aesthetic art.
In the main visual poster of the 2022 Aranya Theatre Festival released on the same day, the changing natural colors recreated the moment of sunrise and sunset on the seashore. The poster elements are mainly imaged by polyhedra, a metaphor for the multi-faceted refraction of the drama to real life. When the "polyhedra" disperses and the weightlessness floats, a play is being staged. The person wearing the hood is like everyone who visits the Aranya Theatre Festival, not defined or bound, both the audience and the character, he/she is immersed in the theatrical space to see and be seen, blurring the boundary between reality and drama. This main vision focuses on keywords such as "theater field, surreal, human, absurd, acting and watching", and also interprets the spirit of the Aranya Theatre Festival's exploration of the boundaries of drama and infinite creation.
As a unique seaside theatre festival in China, the Aranya Theatre Festival debuted last year and attracted the attention of all parties with its unique founding style. During the 11 days of last year's Aranya Theatre Festival, hundreds of theatertists and artists from various fields such as literature, music, dance, architecture and more gathered here to create a unique seaside theatrical utopia with a unique seascape.
