Wu Qingxia (1910--2008) scientific name Wu Deshu, the female history of Longcheng, did not sign the seal of the Pavilion lord. A native of Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. In 1934, together with Li Qiujun, Zhou Lianxia and Lu Xiaoman, she formed the Chinese Women's Calligraphy and Painting Society. In 1956, he was hired as a painter at the Shanghai Academy of Chinese Painting. He is a member of the China Artists Association, a director of the Shanghai Branch of the American Artists Association, a director of the China International Cultural Exchange Center, a member of the Shanghai Municipal Federation of Literature and Literature, an academician of the Italian European Academy, a member of the Hangzhou Xiling Printing Society, and a librarian of the Shanghai Municipal Museum of Culture and History.
His main works are "Ten Thousand Purples and Thousands of Reds", "Soaring Rivers and Seas into the Clouds", "Soaring Miles" and so on. He has published "Wu Qingxia Painting Collection".
Wu Qingxia is the daughter of Mr. Wu Zhongxi, a collector and connoisseur in Jiangnan. Since she was a child, she followed her father's new copy of the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing schools of work, and deeply understood its essence, able to write, in her creation, landscapes, flowers, birds, figures, all kinds of subjects are involved, is an all-round painter.
The most representative of Wu Qingxia's works are carp and reed geese, which stems from her heartfelt love for these two animals, and is also the result of her long-term careful observation and continuous speculation on the works of her predecessors. She pays attention to in-depth life in her creation, so in the depiction of some details, the treatment is more rigorous and delicate without losing its characteristics.

In her old age, Wu Qingxia, with deep affection for her hometown, donated more than 120 famous calligraphy and paintings jointly collected by her husband Mr. Wu Yunrui to the Changzhou Municipal Government free of charge, and donated 1 million yuan for the construction of the art institute. The Shanghai Museum collected national treasures, and she did not hesitate to donate the Family Heirloom Song Ge Kiln Pen Wash and the Celadon Vase from the Kangxi Dynasty to her second hometown.
Elder Wu learned on television that there was a huge earthquake in Wenchuan, and the losses were heavy, and he was very sad. The next day, she instructed her family to donate a month's salary to the Shanghai China Painting Academy to support the earthquake relief.
Her works have always been loved by people, and at the end of 2004, a work by Mr. Wu Qingxia called "Fish Leap" sold for 2.2 million yuan in Beijing, reflecting the market's recognition of her work.
At 10:25 a.m. on June 8, 2008, Wu Qingxia, a talented woman of a generation, died in Shanghai at the age of 99.
