In 2016, the Shanghai Museum also carried out a new round of excavations on it, and its underground palace structure was also discovered later. It is precisely because of its excavation that it proves that Qinglong Town, where Longping Temple is located, is one of the ports of the Maritime Silk Road, and this major historical discovery also has a very profound significance.
Disappeared Longping Temple
On the outskirts of Shanghai, there is a place called Qinglong Town, which is named after a Qinglong Pagoda. This pagoda is in the town's temple, Longfu Temple, but according to historical records, there are 2 temples in Qinglong Town, Longfu Temple is only one of them, it is located on the south side, and there is a temple called Longping Temple on the north side. On the high tower between the two temples, there are relics.
But Longping Temple disappeared out of thin air, which also puzzled many historians and archaeologists. It is also because of the disappearance of the relics that many experts feel that this is related to the disappearance of Longping Temple. Therefore, since 2010, experts have been constantly coming to Qinglong Town to investigate the terrain of the town and the environment around Longfu Temple, but they have not been found in the early stage.
Until 2015, experts also made changes, digging a deep ditch in the original location of Longping Temple to explore, this time with new discoveries. Because some ancient bricks were found, one of which reads "Enter the Tower". It was also because of this discovery that experts were convinced that the brick was surrounded by the location of the previous Longping Temple.
Archaeological excavations begin
Because of this discovery, archaeologists have regained confidence, and according to experience, they have concluded that the ancients liked to put relics in the underground palace, the reason is that it is easier to preserve, because the tower is easier to collapse and the underground palace is more secure. So the enthusiasm of the experts has also been mobilized.
In the process of continuous excavation, it is also slowly possible to make the appearance of the underground palace appear. After some cleaning, the experts once again made a difficult mistake, because through scientific analysis, it is indeed not very easy to open this underground palace, because it is a large stone of more than 100 kilograms, in order to ensure the integrity of the underground palace, it took a lot of effort to move this large stone away.
After removing the stones, there were a total of nine layers of ancient bricks in the underground palace, and the overall excavation speed became much faster. In the process of processing layer by layer, each layer will have some items such as copper coins and bronze mirrors, which are also precious, but the research value is far from that of the relic.
Discover the relics
After the experts continued to dig, they found that after cleaning up five floors, the floor tiles also changed, and the stones began to become more, which made it more difficult to clean, but overall, everyone was not far from the excavation. Eventually the box was found inside the palace, with Buddha beads on the top of the tower and some very symbolic objects around the box, and many experts deduced that the relics might be among them.
But for the sake of safety, the experts chose to protect the cultural relics and sent the box to the science and technology center for opening. Before opening, first did the scan, and then began to open, found that there is an iron letter inside, found a lot of cultural relics, there is a gold wooden letter, originally thought it would be in the gold wooden letter, but after carefully opened, found that there is a silver letter inside, the silver letter does not have much reference value.
However, in the process of continuing to clean up the iron letter, the experts found a not very conspicuous copper bottle, opened it and found something remarkable, after identification, found that it was 1 ordinary relic and 3 crystal relics.
