Feng Mingzhu, former president of the National Palace in Taipei: Although Chinese culture is in decline on the island, its vitality is still strong

The 2021 Chinese Culture Forum was held by video link on the 16th, and Feng Mingzhu, former director of the National Palace Museum in Taipei and chairman of the Baojixiang Literature and History Education Association, shared the promotion of history and culture after her retirement with the theme of "The Work of Literature and History Education Promoted by Me in the Past Six Years". She also said that in Taiwan, literature and history education has been declining day by day due to the "de-Sinicization" of the Tsai government, but the cultural salary is passed on to the people, and the government is unwilling to do it, so it is up to us to do it, and how much history tells us that when Chinese culture is at its most declining, its vitality is very strong, and it will continue to spread and develop.

Feng Mingzhu, former president of the National Palace in Taipei: Although Chinese culture is in decline on the island, its vitality is still strong

Feng Mingzhu, who has worked at the National Palace Museum in Taipei for 38 years, said that after she retired in May 2016, she did not think about what to do, but in June, Yan Zhenghao, president of Bao Jixiang Group, invited her to set up the Feng Mingzhu Institute of Literature and History to start the research on Taiwan history in the Qing Dynasty, taking the Collection of the National Palace Museum in Taipei as the cornerstone, sharing chinese cultural relics preserved by the past dynasties to Taiwanese who like traditional arts, telling their wonderful stories, aesthetics, art, craftsmanship and other extraordinary achievements.

Feng Mingzhu said that since 2017, the "Bao JiXiang Art Lecture" has been regularly held to deepen the understanding of Chinese art and culture among students, teachers and social figures, and also regularly launched large-scale lectures of more than 1,000 people, almost full of venues, the Taiwanese people are very enthusiastic, and now on November 11 this year, the "History and Legends: Jiaqing Emperor and Taiwan" was launched at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Taipei.

Feng Mingzhu pointed out that in 2020, in view of the decline of Taiwan's literature and history education due to the "de-Sinicization" of the DPP authorities, Yan Zhenghao believes that it is necessary to have someone to turn the tide, and with yan Zhenghao's full support, she promoted the establishment of the "Bao jixiang Literature and History Education Association", the purpose of which is to strengthen the declining Chinese cultural education and Chinese history education, and carry out a series of literary and historical education promotion work, such as the "Literacy History Teaching Study Camp" to enhance the teaching of middle school history teachers, etc., to do our best for Taiwan's current literature and history education.

Feng Mingzhu believes that the cultural salary is passed on to the people, many non-governmental organizations that love history are promoting, if the "government" is unwilling to do it, it will be done by the people, and historical experience tells us that the Chinese culture with strong vitality will inevitably find the direction of inheritance and development in the face of adversity, just as japan colonized Taiwan for 50 years, Southern Fujian and Hakka culture are still deeply rooted in Taiwan, and I am convinced that the weakening of Chinese history and cultural education promoted by Taiwan today will fail. Through the Chinese Culture Forum, let us work together to promote Chinese culture.
